I love this drama. Just finished binge watching this for 2 days. Brilliant writer/scriptwriter, I did not see that ending coming. If you like the slap kiss dramas, watch this til the end. Despite the many flaws as this has the usual over the top slap kiss styles , I consider this as one of the top ten slap kiss dramas Ive watched. There were many cute scenes interspersed with the angsts.
Why is the lead actress not credited in this page? I am not from her country so I am not familiar with the casts. But I really got invested in her character. For me, she was very effective.
I was on a drama slump and there's nothing like the simplicity of an old drama to refresh you. 8/10.
Watching this now and its cuteness overload. For the fans of Season 1, highly recommended viewing. Its a different story, a different way of enjoying their chemistry. I just love the 2 main leads. :-)
Slow burn cute romance minus the intense conflicts, interspersed with hilarious funny slice of life scenes. Very relaxing watch and this is one of my top 10 most rewatched shows. If you are on a drama slump and tired of the heavy drama, then this is highly recommended. I really like the two main leads. 9/10.
Watch this for entertainment value and not judge this for any moral issue, then you can enjoy this lakorn. If you like Sawan Biang, Sanaeha Sunya Kaen, Mia Tuean, Sealed with a Kiss , Mai Sin Rai Fai Sawart or You're Mine Only Mine, then you will probably love this drama. The two main leads are pretty to the eyes and have great chemistry together. There is no shortage of skinship also in this drama unlike most, so that at least should satisfy most lovers of romantic drama out there. ;-) 8/10.
I just love the closing song of this drama . So poignant, gives me the chills, all the time.
I love the 2 main leads. Their faces kept me glued and I skipped scenes if they are not in it sometimes. But the episodes got too long and could not keep up with the elaborate storyline. Felt that the screenwriters or director could have done more to shorten the episodes, maintain the momentum of this drama and give it a better ending with all questions resolved. It was such a promising story because it started so well... It was still a good watch.
I just binge watched this show for 2 days and I loved it. Hilarious. No boring moment. Dialogue was excellent. Kudos to the writer, director and the cast. Highly recommended. 8.5/10.
Can anyone recommend another historical drama from China or Taiwan like this one? Most of them are too depressing…
Try Mengfei Comes Across (Oh My Cute Consort) or Story of Ming Lan. You need to be patient with Ming Lan though as episodes are long but I enjoyed the slow burn romance.

Rewatching Chef Fang right now. Such a refreshing show. Recommended light viewing w/o the heavy and depressing shows common in most dramas. The cooking made by the FL is a joy to watch. Unlike some shows with Chef as title but no cooking was really shown. The romance is slow burn and I enjoyed the growing romance b/w the leads. Would have preferred for the writers to add more romantic/cute scenes between the leads. The ML looks annoying in the beginning but he was in character. He really grew on me that I began rooting for him in later episodes. Good job to all crew and cast. I really like the 2 main leads. Thanks to Productive Procrastinator for the English sub.
I am looking forward to season 2 mainly because of the 4 major characters who are re appearing. I love their characters. I enjoyed that show (season 1) despite the weird story line and stupid plot. Hope the same chemistry between the leads prevails. They look so good together. I also hope the story line improves.
For the heartless scriptwriters of this drama ( for future improvement), I love this drama until the main lead was killed by the female lead. After that, due to shock, I stopped watching. After several weeks of disbelief, I just jumped and fast forwarded the scenes to the conclusion. I was not satisfied with the development and the ending. Left a bitter taste to my mouth. So sad, it was so great the first few episodes. I am still re watching until that portion. Cant get over that part, as in. Scriptwriters, please don't do this again!
Yang Zi, you are a fine actress. Hope your agent(s) can take care of you very well, with regards to advice re great roles to protect your career and match make you with a mature and kind man who will love/marry you. Also hope your agent can advise you on clothes/styling so high end brands will get you as endorser. I did not like your clothes in Go Go Squid. Looking forward to your future dramas. I'm a big fan. LOL. me too! What the ML did was unforgivable. But I closed one eye on this flaw and enjoyed every episode until its satisfying end. kudos to the scriptwriter and the cast.
If you want something new and are open minded enough to watch something "kinda weird and twisted", try watch this. Some might feel that scenes do not make sense but hey in life things sometimes do not make sense. I like this kind of film. For me, it's an art film... fast paced, I was never bored. I also appreciated some life lessons the story was trying to convey like taking a stand / or making your own judgments/decisions (which the main FL eventually did).. Im binge watching a lot of dramas, dropped a lot, but this one kept my interest. For that, it's 8/10 for me overall.
