I can't imagine the pain he must've been through to think this was his best choice... probably to protect his family too, as when haters pick a target, everyone close to them, family, friends, and anyone associated with them are potential targets of cruel, blind, harassment. It's heartbreaking, no one deserves to feel like that. May he rest in peace and his family find support. He won't be easily forgotten, his charming voice and acting was too precious.
I really hoped the painting(EP5) would spoil a lot but instead of being more of big help, it may create more theories…
My first though when looking at the painting was that the "goddes" looked very much like Amaterasu, (the halo, the cave...), the other god... maybe Tsukuyomi? And the demon-like hand would be Susanoo, it coming from the water makes sense too in this context. Then reading your comment I though about Nuwa, Fuxi and the elemental/cardinal directions guardians/beasts from chinese mythology. But, knowing the uhmm "not so relaxed" relationship between SKorea and both Japan and China, it's unlikely they'd reference to Japanese or Chinese mythology so I wonder if there is a similar Korean myth behind this (maybe Yuhwa?) but I really don't know much about it. I'm really curious to find out the back story of the Bulgasal at this point.
I haven't seen anyone mentioning how the set with the pastel-coloured labyrinth-like doors and stairs look like a real-life size version of the game Monument Valley... I can't be the only one thinking they took inspiration from it somehow? Does no one know it? That game is a little gem, I expected someone to mention it somewhere.
