Just completed watching Variety Show "Useful Men". It is a fun variety show to watch after mentally and physically exhausted watching K-drama series during covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Jin Yi-han is attractively beguiling and charmingly mischievous, he is a good comedian and acts well in modeling too. He sings and dances so beautifully. It is so heartwarming watching him eating his meal in the show. He really enjoys and respects the food that he eats. Love " Useful Men". I hope the same actors will appear again in another variety show. They work well together as a team.
I always look forward to watching a good historical drama such as "Empress Ki", "My Country: the New Age", "Haichi", "Mr. Sunshine" and also "Different Dreams". However, a Historical drama that ends tragically such as in "Mr. Sunshine" gives a good ending for a patriotic cause though. Also accurate historical K-drama series such as in "Haichi" needs to be produced more often instead of a fictional historical K-drama series that is totally different from any history books.
I must say the lead and second lead characters have their own motivation, hopes, values and fears. For the audience, it seems that both first and second lead male characters are "perfect person" for the female lead character. However, any love triangle story should not drag on too long and becomes annoying. Usually, in the middle of the story, the female lead character will choose the man that needs her not the man that wants her. For example, in "Empress Ki", Gi Seungnyang chooses Toghon Temür (Emperor of Mongol Empire) instead of Wang Yu since Toghon Temür needs Seungnyang to lead a country. Also in "Golden Pouch", at the end Geum Seol-hwa chooses Dr. Han Seok-hoon that needs her to help him navigate the new scary environment instead of choosing Yoon Joon-Sang that wants Seol-hwa so he can live as a pure/honest person.
I find almost all Korean actresses and actors act very well either in a small or big screen. Especially the ones that have been performing on live performing theaters. Also actresses/ actors that went to School of Theater and Arts gained much of their early experience in academic theater before performing on performing theaters and eventually in a small or big screen. The good actors/actresses can create the sense of occasion, however, the casting can make a difference in creating the sense of occasion in any K-drama series or movies. But do not take my word for it.
Thank you for your response, my dear Chia6. At first, I was hesitant to start watching "Golden Pouch", however, after I began watching the first episode, consequently, I could not stop finishing the whole 122 episodes and re-watching it again and again. The cliffhanger of each episode is so precarious, and makes one wants to continue watching the next episode. I rarely think about a movie/K-drama after watching any shows, but "Golden Pouch" makes me keep pondering about the characters and their families life stories. I think Mr. Ahn Nae-sang is an excellent actor and he pulled every single actor/actress in "Golden Pouch" to perform their best acting talent.
My apologies, my response is a bit lengthy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"Golden Pouch" is my forever favorite K-drama. I have been re-watching the series more than half a dozen times from beginning to end. One could feel instantly the on-screen chemistry brewing when the lead characters, Dr. Han Seok-hoon and Geum Seol-hwa, meet by the river in the city of Namwon on the first episode in “Golden Pouch”. The attraction between two lead characters is so palpable and it sets the twists and turns of the story. Mr. Kim Ji-han/Jin Yi-han and Ms. Ryu Hyo-young have excellent on-screen chemistry, one of the best I have ever seen, that is unrivaled by any other K-drama. We really think they have been in love for centuries in “Golden Pouch”. I truly believe I am watching a true story rather than fictional drama series, a match made in heaven.
I really enjoyed the series because it tells us about how to live our lives to the fullest, and the meaning of families in our lives. The wisdom and advice from Mr. Geum Jung-do to his adopted son (Dr. Han Seok-hoon) and his three daughters (Geum Doo-na, Geum Seol-hwa, and Geum Se-na) are so meaningful and heartwarming. The phrases that Grandma Yoon uses also remind me of our elders when they describe the most basic rule of good manners.
The best K-drama series so far. Wish the Screenwriter Lee Hye Sun and Director Kim Dae Jin will get to work together and make another memorable K-Drama as unforgettable as “Golden Pouch” with the same leading actors/actresses.

Mr. Ahn Nae Sang did facilitate the whole crews to do well in "Golden Pouch", he won the 2017 MBC Drama Awards: Golden Acting Award, Actor in a Soap Opera "Golden Pouch". Hoping Mr. Kim Ji-Han/Jin Yi Han will play in an epic historical saga as a prominent lead hero character soon. He is a talented and solid actor. He tells the stories with his “quiet eyes and “laser-sharp focus” in “Golden Pouch” and “Empress Ki”. His appearances on the screens make one’s heart flutters while watching his K-drama series/movies.
I like him as an actor, but the others acting skills i like more & Lee Joon Gi + the first 15 actors are very…
Fair enough, my dear Sweety. However, Mr. Kim Ji-Han/Jin Yi-Han's initial appearances on "Empress Ki" and "Golden Pouch" make one’s heart flutters. The first impression always makes the difference between watching the K-drama series or stop watching it. But do not take my word for it.

I'll give it a try someday, but the episode count is a little daunting atm
The actors and actresses worked well together. I am glad Mr. Ahn Nae-sang won the 2017 MBC Drama Awards, also, Mr. Kim Ji Han/Jin Yi Han and Miss Ryu Hyo Young were nominated for their performance. I think the team-work was good and they respected each other during filming.
