I mean she was so fierce when she told him that no matter what he was the one who killed her but that he was also her second Uncle and then she said she would come back to see him if the citizens suffered... and then he cried so hard when the eunuch came back to give him the short knife she had won and given him to him initially... ahhh my heart was so happy for them.

I can't remember the entire conversation that basically Minister Du told him to go to the ancestral altar and Hao Du kneels far away and when he says come over, Hao Du says it wouldn't be proper. At this point he's still only his godson. So Minister Du gets him over, does all the rites, has him bow and says from today, you are my son and one day your name will also be here (ancestral hall). And then he says, now I should do my best a father for my son (who wants to be the princess consort). Then he tells Hao Du, let's enter the palace to report to his Majesty. Seriously I was so touched I cried!

If it’s to be historically accurate, someone posted that the Khanganate was dissolved and resettled as part of the Tang Dynasty with 4 different khans (something like that) with one of them adopting a Chinese name and becoming a Tang general. If it’s just based on the show, it’s never mentioned that Ashilie Sun becomes the next Khan.

It gets better and better as you progress. No fillers and it’s a drama you cannot FF or you’ll miss plot points. It’s sooooooo good. NIF is another amazing show but they are completely different stories though.
