So Yumi muses to herself while lying on her hotel room bed that “There’s a real age gap here….not even all my fingers could cover it”. Does that mean she’s 11 years older than Shin, making her 40 since he’s 29?
Watching for the second time and I was reminded of how it makes no sense that Mo Mo was obsessed with Fu Pei. I find him supremely unattractive. He looks like an uncle who sells fish.
Huai Jin is one of the sweetest male leads I have seen in a long time. Rather than slashing his way through enemies to save her, he stayed up for weeks making a star chart and magnifying observation lens or whatever. Just as romantic, and I kinda want a bunny lantern now.
Episode 8 was the most heartwarming episode of television I’ve seen since Ted Lasso. They were like the Avengers, with more love, and I’m not embarrassed to say I teared up.
This was one of my first C dramas and now on rewatching it, i don’t know if I’m just older and/or bitchier but Erxi is a really really terrible friend. Selfish and self centered and a moocher. I mean Wei Wei is a bit of an asexual martyr but I found Erxi really annoying. In case anyone needs to hear this - quality trumps quantity when it comes to friendships!
It’s been a long time since I’ve been so captivated by a drama. Most dramas I’ll end up fast forwarding slower scenes or dull characters but with this one I watched every minute. I’m obsessed with the main couple - I appreciate that they kiss like they mean it (why is this so rare in Asian dramas?!) Xi Wei and Jiang Xuening remind me of that line that Catherine says about Heathcliffe in Wuthering Heights - “Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same”.
Sorry but It seems that you haven’t watched many cdramas😅almost every second female acts like that , and…
haha I've only been watching Asian dramas for a couple of years but this one seems especially bad for seriously annoying female characters! I watched Here We Meet Again , When I Fly Towards You, Lighter and Princess and Till the End of the Moon before this one, and I found they weren't nearly as bad for forced cutesiness and terrible mothers? Well Lighter and Princess's mother was pretty bad actually....never mind. :)
I had a mixed feelings about that too, thoug I think It’s good that the writers decided to show what a woman…
Absolutely, but in most TV shows no matter what the country they tend not to go that route, just like they tend not to show, say, kids being killed. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an abortion in a serialized drama.
On episode 7 and it was a bold choice to have her go through with an abortion. I thought she’d have a miscarriage like they do in most American TV shows.
Ok, so it’s not a great drama, and Kyung Pyo’s looks aren’t really my cup of tea but he has got to be one of the mostly sweetly written male leads I’ve seen in any drama.
