while i agree with your point on everything else ,, because taking the bl out of a bl drama in a country without censorship laws is directly queer erasure (unless hyunjun chose not to be in the second season for a reason) . but still ,, they could replace him . i think bromance is generally a fairly homophobic concept in general in asian media since its usually there as a method of queerbaiting (im not sure if thats good phrasing) . however ,, i disagree w what you mentioned abt chinese bromance (at least a majority) since its really due to laws ,, its really a waste to try put bl or lgbtq themes and there has been attempts to make real chinese bl in the past (ie like love which worked out and addicted heroin which was banned) and because of said laws ,, directors // screenwriters have to work their way around getting banned using subtle implications of lgbtq like the running concepts of rabbits in the untamed ,, or cut sleeves in word of honor .
