Yeah...I have found that I just can't trust the reviews on MDL at all. Many old dramas that are loved on here I just could not get into or legitimately hate because the ML is the most toxic character on the planet and many new dramas that are hated but I absolutely love because they are fluffy and warm and cute (something I need in between The K2's and Goblin's and Theory of Love's of the drama world lol).
Does Cutie Pie have it's flaws? I guess. I didn't really find any. It's a cute drama that also brings up a serious social issue like the lack of marriage equality in Thailand. Also, there's a reason episode 8 part 1 has 14 million views and it's not just because it's really sexy.
This is one of the cutest BLs I have watched since I started with Bad Buddy a few months ago. Jeff and Gameplay have such great chemistry and I really hope that they are able to do a second season soon even though it's been almost 2 years since it was made. I know that Jeff is going to be really busy with the KinnPorsche Word Tour coming up and then season 2 of KinnPorsche (hopefully) and I know that Gameplay has another drama in the works but....this was the fluffiest thing ever and I need more. That ending.....PLEASE! SOMEONE! WE NEED MORE!
The way that they destroyed Korn's character was totally and completely unnecessary. They already had the issue of both him and Knock coming out to their parents (which let's face it could have carried the entire season) and they could have made the boss creepy without Korn cheating with him. OR......or Korn and the boss could have just kissed and then Korn could have come his senses right then and been like "what the fuck am I doing, let's get out of here" and left. But no, they had him full on cheat on the man that he loved. Completely unnecessary. Honestly, I would have liked it much better if they could have chosen one issue to focus on. Coming out to quite possibly homophobic parents or creepy ass boss being all up in their business.
You really have to be in the right mindset in order to watch this. It will break your heart. You will cry almost every episode. You will scream at the unfairness of it all. But it is so fucking good. The cinematography is absolutely amazing, every single actor brings their A game and you will fall in love with every single one of them, yes even the villain. Will I watch it again? Probably not. I had to space out the episodes to one every few days and during the later episodes one every week, because like I said....ouchie in the heart lol. Maybe in a few years I'll watch it again. But I definitely recommend if you like fantasy set in a modern time. And it has a happy ending....kind of.
After getting into BLs and hearing about how this was one of the best, I had to check it out and honestly I really don't know how to feel about it. This is definitely a "slow burn" and I actually kind of hate slow burns. I don't know, I gave it a 7/10.

I absolutely loved this...but fvcking hell my poor heart. It gave me almost as much heartbreak as Bulgasal did...almost.
I was able to hold in most of my tears until EP11 but then that ending scene finally broke me. I openly wept for a while and actually had to take a break. Off's acting...fvck man. Even now, a few hours later and also after finishing the special, my heart still hurts just thinking about it. But happy ending thank goodness. I don't know if I would have able to handle an open ending like with "Record of Youth" after all that heartache.

Right? When I watched the behind the scenes, as soon as I saw him crying I started crying and just wanted to reach through the screen and give him a hug. Thank goodness Jeff was there and was able to help calm him down...our baby Barcode deserves all the love.
I love Cutie Pie so much! The fact that they are talking about marriage equality and how love is love and bringing up consent...oh my word, even in the straight dramas that I watch they don't do that. Lian stopping and making sure that Kuea is not drunk and that he knows what they are leading up to and stopping once again telling Kuea to tell him to stop if he doesn't feel good...seriously, I love this series for that alone lol although I love it for many more reasons lol. The chemistry between all of the couples are just off the charts. Also, I have never seen so much tongue action in a BL or even just an Asian drama than I have seen in this one. Seriously.......wow.
This is, simply put, the cutest, fluffiest, most adorable TV show I have ever watched and I absolutely adore it!! The best introduction into the genre that is BLs.
This was so good. Granted I would recommend having tissues nearby you at all times and to only watch one episode in a sitting and have a comedy on standby. It is super heavy and they put all the characters through the wringer. Sure they do have some lighthearted moments, but it is mainly very serious and shit goes down starting from the beginning of episode 1 all the way to episode 16. Everyone did an amazing job in this. The acting was absolutely superb and VFX are amazing. I personally loved it.

I am currently on episode 13 and it is so heavy. Take the heaviness of Goblin and times it by 10. This definitely is not a romance, it's not super cliché-y and it is one that makes you second guess yourself. Makes you second guess whether or not you know which way it's going to go, makes you second guess that you know for sure who the bad guy is. If you like a drama that you can tell what is coming up next and you're always right, this one is definitely not for you. If you like ones that make you second guess yourself, then this one great. But I do recommend not binging it. I was only able to watch 4 episodes in one day and I had to take a break for while because it was so painful. But it really keeps me coming back for more. Definitely have a romcom or funny compilations of your favourite celebs on hand for the really painful episodes.
I watched this because I got into SHINee the passed year and I'm slowly going through all of their dramas and movies and I have to say after watching many kdramas in the passed year, this is a good turn off your brain, you don't need to think drama. Yes it is cringy but I always find the "pretend to be someone you're not and try not to get caught" storylines very cringy so that's just me. Besides all that, it's a good drama.
Ngl I mainly watched this for Key and I don't regret it. For someone who was used to watching dramas with a romance aspect to them, it was a good break from that. It will make you want to binge it so maybe block out a few days of free time before watching. You may be a little disappointed with the ending, but all in all it was a good show.

That's just what I felt watching this drama. I listen to the Your Lie in April OST quite a bit and some of the instrumentals in Doom At Your Service reminded me so much of some of the instrumentals in Your Lie in April. I don't know what else to tell you.
