Woo hoo! 8.6 - I don't know how long it has been that rating but I am glad it went up since the last time I checked!

I've only read the translation and only seen 4 eps..but I feel like the show is doing a better job at actually…
I wanna see how they handle shuo province in the drama first before I make the decision on whether or not she's a bigger mary sue in the show (btw, other characters linking her doesn't make her a mary sue!..look up what being a mary sue exactly means in critical terms). But even with that angle, In the book wei zheng, chancellor Fang are all enamoured with her and Adou wants her as a master after she threatens him (which, I mean I luv my crackhead, adou!) but it makes more sense that he feels a sense of admiration towards her cuz she saves him from being caught red-handed in a quite suave manner. 2ndly, her military strategist "experience" being shown by the cuju game was WAYY better than her, just randomly have her showing up inside shuo province, (how did she cross the heavily guarded walls which later on become a huge plot point), LUCKILY over-hearing a plot to rob the Governor's wife and helping her out to gain the Governor's favour...The first intoduction of her military savvy-ness in the manhwa is when she kills General Tuka and his army..you see how big of a jump that is?...instead, in the drama her military education is introduced with the cuju game and the play-fight with her uncle, which I hope the drama will then build upon later in the show..Keep in mind that no matter how many different strategy books she might've studied she NEVER had real-life experience. So, for me it also makes sense that she's a more capable combatant than a strategist at this stage of the show. Which parts of the show did you find her behaving completely stupid? For me, it was only when she and Adou were having breakfast in broad day light...when plain clothes guards almost caught her. ..that was the only one for me, what other scenes did you think were stupid?...Ashile Sun's interest in her in the show makes more sense, cuz he can guess that she belongs to the eastern palace and as set up by the show, the turks are interested in a Tang princess for reasons yet to be disclosed, so, I also think that is better than the manhwa where he hears of the Great Capt Li, (who's been around for 2 weeks) somehow across the border from Shuo province and get interested in hiring him as a strategist cuz Turks apparently know jackshit about war-strategy (The biggest BS ever....lol..one only needs to look at the mongols, kazakhs, mughals an d ottomans to see how far advanced their warfare tactics were to the Tangs).
Guess I'm the only on that is unhappy with The Long Ballad (and I wasn't even expecting much to begin with, as…
I've only read the translation and only seen 4 eps..but I feel like the show is doing a better job at actually portraying and fleshing out the story...the manhwa often left stuff messy & unexplained (like how a legendary governor of shuo province blindly makes a teenager his chief military strategist after ONE encounter) and how changge escapes certain situation without proper explanations(i.e. plot armour) and ngl the manhwa's Chang'ge is an outright mary sue!..the show so far, explains Chang'ge's knowledge, intelligence, actions and decisions...where as often times the manhwa DIDN'T...I agree with the bottom bits about make-up and costume but it's a mainstream chinese production...I've seen MUCH worse...not that that make those criticisms invalid...No I don't think they'll cut the origin(uighur-turkic) story..they've already planted seeds for that in Ep 1 & 2..several times inEp 1...there was a lot of foreshadowing in the dialogue about several aspects.
