I decided to skip last two eps cuz they are sad so lets end this drama with happy ending. I know they said there…
Just wanted to let you know that ep 23, the 2nd-to-last ep, is full of cute moments and displays of affection. I think it's worth watching if you can resist moving to ep 24.
I'm in shock, everyone. What I thought was censored bromance really turned into something else. Never would I have ever guessed I would see that since...that usually doesn't happen. I was already disappointed with how much they cut in OG Addicted, but this one survived and flourished. The family scenes alone were enough to move me and make me cry ( I don't usually watch family dramas so they got me) but wow, Su Yu and Wu Bin and are amazing together. You really feel everyone's love. I hope there's a season 2, but I'm happy with how fully realized this season is (the last ep hopefully helps them hook a second season, but it doesn't help my heart). Amazing work.
I'm on ep 16 and I am dying over how intense Wu Bin's family is...like, we knew his dad was super aggressive, but then his cousin shows up and threatens death to hypothetical people? It must be normal to Wu Bin to be possessive...
I also love how the show throws Wu Bin's possessiveness in there like it's normal to be mad at romantic rivals when you're just "friends". It's not officially BL but it might as well be at this point. Love it.
once upon a time, there was platonic BL that was called, 'BROMANCE'
I think you nailed it on the head of why I suffer through all the censored Chinese bromance shows. Just the emotions and acting can show us the love between characters....
A play within a play! As a small theater goer, this movie was SO impressive. This was electric and amazing. I loved it so much. You can read my review for a more in-depth opinion. So good!
Something that is helping me cope with this unfinished drama are the more accurate subs available on some vids on daily motion (it has the Disney-like font). I think they really capture Pei Shu's sass and Luo Wei's brash but caring attitude. Every single second of their scenes together is pure gold since we only have 8 episodes so understanding their lines helps preserve that preciousness.
Zhang Xin Cheng's quiet arrogance and wide-eyed vulnerability is an excellent foil to Luo Wei's rough talk but gentle gaze as he keeps caring for Zhang Xin Cheng. I'm amazed the show's team wanted to make this adaptation because of censorship, but I applaud their efforts at keeping the dynamics similar to the source. Another great adaptation of Priest's work.
