Episode 18 done and uploaded to subscene, sent to dramacool. Next ep next weekend. :)Non-spoiler translation notes…
I find translating and languages so interesting so thank you for talking about the translations you did for the idioms! And of course thank you for all of your hard work in translating this drama!
To answer your question on why Junmo killed Gicheul- I would say to prevent guilt. He killed Gicheul before he…
I actually saw a few other people say the same thing you did about why Junmo killed Gicheul after I wrote/posted this review, and yeah that makes sense. I guess, I just forgot that they were both Catholic because they didn't really act like it throughout the drama lol. I definitely understand what you're saying about the relationship between Junmo and Euijeong....but yeah, I was living in false hope for sure. Given the genre of drama, it would've been nice to have one glimmer of light, but again, very wishful thinking/wanting on my part. The whole thing with Junmo/Haeryeon is still weird to me. Again, it does make sense in some ways for them to bond and grow close, but it felt a little icky to me when one of their early interactions was coerced (almost) s*x. Everything you're saying really does make sense and I do think the writing in the drama was pretty much there. Most things were foreshadowed or made sense given the characters, but I do think a few things could've been developed better and in the end, I think I just wanted something different from a show that was very obviously not going to end well! Thank you very much for responding and being so polite and insightful! I love getting different opinions about dramas/movies so it was fun to read your comment!
I would be enjoying this so much more if there wasn't the love triangle...Let them all be best friends that get up to shenanigans without any friendships breaking up over a girl!
