I see why people like this drama but it was just okay for me

I understand why people like this drama, but while I enjoyed it, it was just okay.

I liked the main story/couple, but didn't care about anyone else. It was also fun watching an "old" kdrama and enjoying how seriously they took their tropes. But some topics were handled poorly. For example, Bokjoo's weight and looks (they were really trying to make us think that Lee Sungkyung was fat and average looking) and the fact that Joonhyeong was so immature and rude to her. I could mostly handle all that, but it was the storyline was Joonhyeong's mother that sent me over the edge. Because, what do you mean she abandoned him, cut contact, then came back and acted like she loved him only for it to be revealed that she needed money for her sick child (Oh of course that makes it okay! She's trying to save her other child!). All of that is good conflict and interesting to see played out, HOWEVER, everyone except Joonhyeong accepts it and doesn't think his justified freakout was okay, And then in the end, he sort of accepts her too and sends her on her way. It's crazy!

Anyway, I did enjoy this and am surprised I put it off for so long.

My rating system:
7.5-7.0 ---liked it a lot, but had some issues with plot/characters/pacing
