That's a fair review! i personally didn't know anything about the original story and I actually remove any zombie-related…
Lol, you are right with so many things! I had to take the show with a pinch of salt. Only then could I enjoy it! I also am not a fan of zombies, but after seeing The Master's Sun, I decided to 'warm up' to the idea if the execution is ok. I liked LSG's character, too, but it took me a second to warm up to him. Overall though, I felt that the feel of the show was not the same through all episodes, so I couldn't rate it higher than I rated. Still would totally recommend giving it a try :)

Playboys can be really good at being charming. Plus we know that he is actually also swaying, so there is some sincerity in his actions hiding somewhere. I agree with one of the comments on this page that it's all easy for us to figure out since we have all the information. Tae Hee keeps getting mixed messages and mixed infor from different places. On top of that, she is pretty inexperienced so no wonder that she is going back and forth.

Why is everyone shipping Shi Hyun and Soo ji while I am shipping Se Joo and Soo ji like crazy.
Soo Ji and Shin Hyun initially got much more scenes together, so their interactions were way more interesting. The scene in the hotel after the announcement, for example... It was easy to see the actual connection between them. The more time Soo Ji and Se Joo get together, the easier it is to see that they also have an interesting history. However, because of the writing, Shi Hyun was definitely the favorite at the time. We just saw so many moments they shared together in the past that it build this expectation that they could be unbreakable.

I am not sure that he is necessarily that important. I didn't read it as that. I think that the family likes to pretend that they all care for one another when, in reality, they are a bunch of crazy egoists. He keeps rebelling, so they keep beating him up for that. The relationships in the family are a bit unclear, though. It might be that he has a different mother than his other siblings, and that his mother was the favorite.

I'll begin by saying that I haven't seen any of the original adaptations, so I don't have comparisons to make…
You brought up some really good points. I must be a sucker for cheap emotional drama scenes with sexual tension because I really got into the first couple of episodes. I think that this trio makes an amazing base for a good drama mostly because they are so eager to play with other people's feelings. On the one hand, they are all broken people who weren't really shown how to create healthy relationships, but at the same time it shouldn't really matter to us since they are trying to destroy several people's lives for the sake of petty fun ('revenge'). I think that Soo Ji's character is very well written and extremely well acted out, but I wouldn't call her a likable character. She crosses the line between being broken and rotten way too often. She might be having a tough time, but she is spoiled to the core plus she is a bit of a sociopath. I like seeing characters like that in the shows, so she doesn't really bother me, though.
I agree that the fake/not so fake romance is moving a bit too quickly. The pacing seems weird with this one. I wonder if it's because things are about to get even messier. I don't love Joy in this role, but I'm not sure if it's her or the role itself. Either way, I actually am really enjoying this drama so far.

I feel really confused someone help me pls
Both of those things seem confusing. You brought up some good uestions. I think Soo Ji is super sensitive about her mother and her pride and the guy who rejected her because she is not 'good enough' made her embarassed and livid, so she is going out of her way to get back at him. This is why she is trying to take away anything (anyone) who has value to this guy. The girl she is befriending is a 'good match' for him and he wants to get married to her because of the connections and money. Eun Tae Hee is his real first love, so Soo Ji wants to make her suffer, too. Soo Ji is broken and unable to create real strong bonds, so she tends have those weird, twisted relationships with people. She is even willing to use Shin Hyun for that. I think that her feelings/emotional stability is all over the place, so she kind of uses the people around her all the time, even though she might have feelings for Shin Huyn.
I think Se Joo's family is totally toxic and the only person who actually cared about him is his mom. The other woman is either a second wife or a mistress, I can't quite figure it out. Anyway, everyone in this family seems to be after the money.

I can certainly see your point. However, the vast majority of teenage/young relationships are pretty much based on attraction and strong chemistry. In this sense, I don't see them being vastly different. They are ridiculously attracted to one another plus they have the understanding of what the other one is going through. This is actually their asset. In this sense, I could even see them technically helping each other out at this stage of their life, so I can't agree with you that their relationship is slowly killing them. Now, getting married and being together for life is a whole different story because it involves starting a family and often bringing an offspring into the picture. People should be very picky when they decide to get married. Then again, those 3 haven't every experienced a good marriage and they don't think that they will ever be able to have one. It would make sense that getting married to your childhood friend is the best possible option for them. Now, I think that you hit the nail on the head with them having some serious issues that should be addressed by a professional, but this seems like a whole different issue to me.

Not sure if anybody needs to die to make this show any more dramatic/tragic. It is plenty dramatic as it is.

I have a question for people shipping Shi Hyun and Soo Ji: you like when people have extremely toxic relationship?…
I think that they are some deeply scarred people who might be unable to create real lasting relationships without hurting others, so as they are now, they are really perfect for each other. Can you imagine either of them trying to be in a relationship with a warm person? They would totally destroy them. Their life is toxic and their only little bit of refuge is having each other. I think that it's actually quite realistic in that sense. Plus, I feel like those 3 are the only ones that know what the others are going through. It's tough to find someone who can understand where you are coming from. All in all yes, I do think that they are actually perfect for each other.

Similarly to others, I also watched that movie a long time ago. I remember it pretty vividly considering the amount of years that passed because it left a deep scar on my soul. I am not sure that the movie would be equally profound now, but I still remember it as sad and deep.

Okay, am I the only one who was deeply dissatisfied with the final couple mix? After the 2nd episode I really wanted Ojiro with Airu, Usami wiih Reiko and the doctor to continue working with Kairi. I think that Mei and Yuki were actually a very cute couple, but the way they got together put me off. Seriously, Ojiro and Airu had such great chemistry! I lived for the second round of the shuffle to see those two getting together.

I will need to disagree because all of these criteria seem a bit problematic to me. For example, I dislike historical dramas and melodramas, but watched Scarlet Heart and actually enjoyed it. The only reason I gave it a try is because of a DF trailer that I watched. I learned not to go off of a synopsis, because most of them make me not want to watch a potentially good drama. This is why I generally try to avoid reading those. When it comes to the actors, some dramas changed my perception of an actor I didn't think could act, so to me it's worth giving the cast another try. I would agree with annoying cliches but then again, there is really nothing new under the sun and 98% of themes have been explored in the movie industry in some way or another. The cliches alone rarely distract me from giving a drama a try.
I think what matters to me is seeing the trailer to get a feel for what the drama might be. I often also go based on viki ratings. I don't look for the most groundbreaking dramas and my time is limited so I try to look for things that most of the people liked... If I happen to disagree with it, so be it. Typically I can see the reason why many people liked something, though.
MaruChan61 Aug 14, 2017
I totally agree with your 3 reasons but man, what an incredible character Jong Hyun Soo is.It's such a shame the writers weren't able to give us equally interesting main characters.

"Would I rewatch? Not unless someone makes an edited version of only scenes with Song Joong Ki."

hahaha... Well, I did actually enjoy this show that could be accurately described as a hybrid of cheese, action, pathos and some hard to explain scenes mixed together, but I would not exactly mind exchanging it for a one man show starring Song Joong Ki, either ;)

I've seen her in 2 dramas so far and every time I do I can't help but admire how pretty she is....does everyone…
She and Lee Sung Kyung are two of the prettiest women I've ever seen. I also saw her in two dramas and I was equally amazed both times. I liked her character in The Master's Sun more than in Kill Me, Heal Me though.
