Yes you're right, those are special episodes or a tie-in series which connects the story of the second film with the third film (Chihayafuru: Musubi) ;) , it's not a recap or a summary though, they have new content,the short episodes (like only 5 minutes or something) that only give us glimpse of how things were going,what did the boys and girls felt,what is their thoughts..etc during the 2 years barrier between movie 2 and movie 3 ,so it's more like a bridge that allow us to be more invested in their story :D

well as far as it seems,it's more of the special episodes or as they called it a tie-in series which connects the story of the second film with the third film (Chihayafuru: Musubi) that's where the title "Tsunagu" (which means Connect in Japanese) came from :D

I think also because it's so realistic somehow :D , a lot of people admired their teachers and some of them, specially teenagers who don't know what love is,and never experienced romance before, fell in love with their teachers in one way or another,so it's something to be expected to happen all the time.
however only in movies \ drama it can turn out to be romantic and sweet though *sigh*
Society is forbidding such relationships, and I can to some extent understand why,but still it's a lot dramatic and painful in real life, so that is another reason why it's important to portray it in such way I guess,to look at it as The love that fights all the odds and overcomes any obstacles ^^

Yeah, but at least this time the story is different,or let's just say it's a "real" sequel to the original story with new rules and whole new concept,and I think it's a good way to experience new things while keeping the fandom alive :D
