At 16:16 he asks what sort of marriage she envisions they will have. Both romantic and clever in that it echoes the key theme in this story where you impatiently await midnight for the next episode. Theme: Marriage in ancient China...... what kind of partner do you hope for? why do women have to rely on men to succeed? what is the driver of my existence? I thought I liked First Jasmine, and Shadow Sovereign, but this story is great. They made an excellent pair in Melody of Golden Age as well (but in that the cinematography and lighting were superior in est. her beauty and their romance) .

Is it the FL's little girl dubbed voice? Is it the lame dialogue? Is it the silly characterizations of both the leads? Disappointing.

The tropes are so obviously conveyed. The story hasn't improved. I am only watching because ZBB is goodlooking.
