Not perfect but I love it anyway.

Our Universe certainly has its flaws, but i.m.o. it doesn’t deserve a low rating. I think many viewers were so disappointed by one particular plot turn that they overlooked how much this drama actually gets right.
What worked especially well for me were the early episodes: the sharp, lively chemistry between the ML and FL when they were still bickering and clashing, their chaotic energy, and the genuinely fun dynamic they had. And Bae In‑hyuk and Woo joo are the heart of this drama, In-hyuk carries Tae‑hyeong’s entire arc with warmth, nuance, and outstanding comedic timing. His scenes with Woo‑joo are pure gold because of their natural chemistry and the  brilliant editing of Woo‑joo’s expressions. I also loved the supporting cast, the emotional development between the leads, and the heartwarming ending.
What didn’t work was the infamous love triangle. Viewers were already fully invested in ML/FL/Woo‑joo, so the 2ML felt like an unwelcome intruder. He was written as pushy and unsympathetic, had no real depth or personal arc, lacked chemistry with the FL, and took up far too much screentime. This not only hurt the pacing but also made the FL’s behavior confusing and inconsistent. Both the FL actress and the 2ML actor were left with very little to work with.
I actually liked the FL’s chemistry with Tae‑hyeong/Bae In‑hyuk, she showed more emotion and depth with him, even if not always consistently, she had her moments.
Because of the triangle, we also got far too little time with the ML and FL once they finally became a couple, far too late in the series. I really missed seeing more of their new dynamic together: their awkward but sincere love, their growth as partners, and their development as a little family with Woo‑joo. That deserved much more space.

Despite this, Our Universe is one of my favorite dramas. It has plenty of humor, heart, and emotional moments. And honestly, Tae‑hyeong and Woo‑joo alone make it worth watching.
