Well, they did say that the antibodies weren't detected the first time. Plus, there are at least 22 diseases that share key symptoms with ALS, making misdiagnosis a real problem. Actually, I didn't know all of this until I read your comment and looked it up (http://scarysymptoms.com/2017/09/22-diseases-mimic-als-symptoms-can-lead-misdiagnosis/). It was intriguing, if slightly terrifying.

In my own family, my dad was misdiagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease for 2 years, so yes, this sort of crap really does happen. >_<

The Taiwanese and Korean versions have such contrived reasons for why she gets hit by the car, but this was one so simple and gut-wrenching and true to her character. I bawled my eyes out with Nid when she learns about the baby. I started when Pawut's voice broke, and when Nid's eyes filled with tears, I was cut to the heart. So beautiful and tragic.

I'm only to ep5, but I love Esther in this. It's a perfect fit for her. The actress playing her mom is great, too. So far, Nid's family is much more realistic than the moms and annoying sisters in the other 2 versions.

My husband got about 5 minutes in, and he made me look online because he was so annoyed that they changed the actress.

This follows the pattern of several dramas made in China in the last couple years that seem more like university acting projects than professionally funded and produced TV programs. Overall, the locations, sets, lighting, and cinematography are decent. But, the scriptwriter, actors, makeup crews, wardrobe, and editing are all painfully sub-par. I mean, who has the EXACT SAME MANICURE for 4 years?!! I just can't... /smh

Sad but true.. I only made it through ep 5, skipped to 10, said WTF and dropped it like a hot potato. >_>
