The next part is really personal, but I felt moved to share.

This plot hit home for me because I developed vestibulodynia about 5 years into my marriage, and it really affected our sex life and self-esteem. BUT we aren't Japanese and have no problem talking openly about this stuff. Plus I had a great doctor who helped me figure out that I had a new allergy to laundry detergent, which was causing my severe pain. Once we fixed that, she sent me to a sex therapist to get over the fear of pain with sex. 15 years later, our marriage (and our sex life) is still going strong.

So to anyone suffering from vaginismus, vestibulodynia, or related conditions, I just want to say: Don't give up! There is help out there! ♥️♥️♥️

Usually it's because the sound quality of the recording from filming isn't good enough. It happens for many reasons. In fact, I felt there were many more places where they should've redone vocals because lots of scenes had crackling and other annoying sounds.

What translation did you read? The book has so many other details that add so much more insight into the characters. I highly recommend it.

I was excited to watch it think that Victor Ma would be in it, but seeing that some other guy was cast in that role killed my enthusiasm. :/
