In my case, I'm sick and tired of the negativity of people who condemn stars and literally destroy their reputation without any proof whatsoever other than opinions based on sensationalist journalism.

This behavior reeks of envy, because the one doing the condemning is angry and bitter that their own life isn't going as well as famous person X, and they think that gives them justification to attack them with slander and libel. They get on a moral high horse and can't see that their behavior is just as bad, if not worse, than what they're condemning someone else for. The whole bullying scandal was a perfect example.

Now to agree with your other point, I personally don't like calling famous people "idols" because an idol is an object of worship. I've never met a human worthy of my worship. Actors and singers don't deserve to be put on a pedestal and worshipped, but they also don't deserve to be unfairly condemned without proof.

I will also clarify that your "freedom of speech" is not under attack. "Freedom of speech" doesn't mean people can't openly disagree with your opinions. It means the government can't persecute you unfairly because it doesn't like what you say. It doesn't, however, protect libel or slander, which are punishable crimes.

When people are so blinded by envy that they lash out like this, their only goal is destroying what the other person has. There's no other benefit except their feeling of superiority once their perceived "rival" has fallen.

Sadly, those people aren't happy unless others are suffering. If you don't understand them, be grateful you're a normal and compassionate human being.

Absolutely actresses can do illegal things; many have. The issue is that SO FAR there's no evidence that PMY has done anything illegal. Dating is not illegal. Dating an alleged fraudster is not illegal, either. So until there's some actual proof that she's done something illegal, let's not vilify her. For that would make US the criminals.

Dropping was a good choice. I finished it, but her behavior just kept getting more and more frustrating and unrealistic. (I'm looking at you, episodes 20-21!!) Honestly, she was so unprofessional that I felt bad for real Chinese child psychologists. 😒

This is one of those dramas that are barely tolerable when you're watching and completely forgettable afterwards. x_x

There were SO MANY THINGS she did WRONG as a medical professional that I had to keep finding reasons to justify her behavior:
- C's get degrees.
- Medical training is shorter in China.
- Psychotherapy is not a well-developed field in China.
- She's human and can make mistakes like anyone else.
- She left rationality at the door and makes all decisions with her feelings.

The problem isn't that there's drama right before it ends but that the writers aren't creative enough to build it into the story better. If they added more foreshadowing that _what happened_ would cause an issue between the couple or gave us more indication in the protagonists' characters of what their reactions would be, it wouldn't seem as abrupt and annoying. But since they're lazy writers, they don't. As a result, YES, it's annoying. @_@

Yeah, no joke. It's not like anyone asks to see someone's IDs when you're out hanging out, and I don't get how this was his problem anyway. More like the girls and the bar should be held responsible, not some random bargoers, except they're famous. Ridiculous.

Hello is fine in this context. It's sufficiently formal, even in business English, and doesn't sound strange at all to a native speaker (me).

A lot of people are naive about stuff like this. His forte is entertainment, not finance.

BUT the biggest red flag in the lawyer's release was that LSG felt like he had a "family relationship" with HOOK & its CEO. In other words, he thought the they were on his side fighting for his benefit, not that they were working in the dark to screw him over and then cover it up.

I really feel for him because it's so frustrating to deal with crap like this. At least it looks like he found a good lawyer willing to track down every stray won. Hopefully his next agency will be more up-front with everything.
