I agree with you, SM shouldn't have given Hwi so much assurance from the onset, he's trying to fix it now but its kinda late. Imagine a guy 12 yrs younger being so sure about you after 1 day, personally I wouldn't trust it, it'll look like puppy love to me and I'd be like go talk to other people.
As for not telling Hwi that he changed his mind first, SM has shown that he can have tough convos when necessary, its probably the quick format of the show, to me it looked like he hadn't really decided who to go for, but when Hwi came to ask if he had changed his mind he decided to just let him go since he was getting more attracted to JS

I think its better for SM to go for JS despite wether it works out or not, at least its honest. wouldn't it be too fake if within 1 week all these guy just magically found the love of their lives?

Hwi and SJ are very sincere and they are my favourites in the show , but they have also shown some immature sides like the others.
I hate to compare but for example in season 2, even though JS was set on SH from the beginning, he was vocal about understanding that they didn't really know each other and SH can spend time with other people to decide how he feels.
With Hwi he kinda expects SM to just fall for him as well almost like a movie, and all his feelings are written clearly on his face.
In this regard JS was more mature, he is considerate of SM's feelings which probably makes him more attractive to SM.
Just emphasizing NO ONE is a villain here, they are all just normal guys trying their best to find love, we only see a snippet of their lives in a one week pressure cooker.

Ahhhh, I just finished episode 10 and can't stop screaming, Hwi and Seungjin are too cute and wholesome, no matter how those two define their relationship, I'll support it, their combination of fun and sincere is too endearing. I'm older than them, but they are who I want to be when I grow up.

As for Hwi and SM, I only wanted it for Hwi because he seems to want it so much, but it's only been 4 days and SM can't match his energy and that's okay. Hwi honey, you'll live
Just like Seungjin said Hwi just needs to open his mind a bit and he'll realize that there are other fish in the sea .

As for SM he's a calm person and has probably lived carefully all his life, I think the one week format of this show is doing him a disservice. Maybe I'm projecting my feelings on him, I can see a little bit of my past self in SM... he liked being liked more than he liked Hwi... then he realized how attracted he was to JS. It's good that he follows his heart, I'm happy he is brave enough to do so, it doesn't matter if it works out.

Even if this is true sexuality is complicated, it can carry very difficult and heavy emotions. Coming out in a country like SK is still hard, and you don't have the right to judge anyone's journey.

I kinda understand SM a bit, Hwi is pretty brave in love, I think it also has to do with him being young, some people lose this as they get older and more cautious. While SM likes Hwi, he also likes JS and wants to see how it goes while no deep feelings have developed yet. The age difference dilemma is boring and practical but important.

I can respect that SM doesn't want to do this casually, if he's not sure then he's not sure. It's better than pretending. Hwi in 4 days has said I like you and only you, now SM is struggling because he can't say it back. it's a mental burden and might make him more relaxed around JS who is understanding, maybe that's why he asked for a date.

You're right the fair arrangement would have been to put all 3 together in the quad room to let everyone explore their feelings, but I think by the rules Hwi and SM could no longer be in the same room

After watching the last few eps I don't think MK is overconfident anymore, I think he's an inexperienced guy who doesn't know how to express his feelings, it's like he gets shy and masks it with that teenager like I'm too cool to care look. We would be more understanding if he was just honest but it's really hard to be vulnerable like that
Instead he keeps approaching YJ hoping they would just magically get along and maybe spark something again but YJ just finds him annoying

There is no right side here, I get YJ frustration because he really needed to sort things out with MK but he really is to harsh on him, I mean everyone in the house noticed how weird he was being. He's so disrespectful to MK shouting at him in front of other people like that.
Also its pretty obvious to everyone including YJ, that MK still really likes him, but MK is just a slow guy, he not doing it on purpose, he needs more time to process his feelings and that's why that conversation went so horribly.

He likes YJ but can't say it because he knows YJ doesn't like him back and he doesn't want to look pathetic on TV, he feels hurt about their past relationship and to me he looks very inexperienced with love matters, all that talk on his intro was just a young guy bluffing.

It's like YJ is kicking a little puppy that keeps nibbling on his toes, Its annoying but the puppy wants love and doesn't know better. I think MK will be over the moon and forgive everything if YJ was nice to him

But then again from YJ pov there's a strange puppy nibbling on his toes, they're not in a relationship so it's really not YJ's job to take care of MK or help him sort anything out. MK is frustrating but lashing out at MK like that is a bad look for YJ too. I guess I feel bad for both of them

Lol, I think you shouldn't watch reality dating shows, there are a lot of BL's that would appeal better to you, sadly humans don't behave like fictional characters, they aren't perfect, they make mistakes, some repent and regret it, some don't. that's just life, I find that way more interesting than a scripted show

ohh okay I see where you're coming from, I still think the age gap is a legitimate concern though. It's a shame because good BL scripts are rare and this could have highlighted some important issues.

I don't know how much the story has changed from the original, but it's a still good story so I want to support it. Maybe I'm being delulu but there is still a chance for the BL aspect to be introduced in part 2 when we get YH's soul back in his body, I mean they would have had to get permission from the original writer for this adaptation so "hope springs eternal"🙃.

As someone who never read the manwhua, it would be confusing to see people rooting for a BL relationship between the 2 mains, because based on the synopsis and 6 out of 8 episodes all interaction is still between a 47 yr old man and a teenager. The world is much more aware of damaging tropes in movies now and goblin also got some flack for this even 10years ago talk less of now when we're all more sensitive to power imbalances in relationships. Frankly you calling people homophobic for pointing it out smacks of victim mentality. Take some time to breathe and relax your mind

I don't understand why all the comments are clamouring for this to be a BL, honestly they did us all a favour by taking it out. Do you all honestly want to see the romance between a 47 year old man and a highschooler, it might work in the web novel where there is more context and all, but for the series it would have been a mess
