People here are so angry because of how Hyejin is treating Dusik, but I like the fact that whenever she mistreats Dusik, eg. that social position talk, it's always Dusik who has the last word. She says something very mean but then again it's Dusik who replies with "I thought you had changed" with an expressionless face, and leaves her standing there, feeling guilty. To me, it just shows how the writers are saying that Dusik is the only one who can break this hard rude exterior of Hyejin.
So if it isn't really Dusik's mom in the photo, I don't think it's his ex wife either. First of all, she seems kind of older than him. Secondly, his connection with Hyejin just screams true first love to me, if it was really his dead wife he'd be too guarded.
Dusik was born and raised in the village all his life, so this woman might be someone who took care of him in her house in Seoul, someone who he respected and liked a lot but not in a romantic sense. He might have accidentally done something which led to the woman and the kid getting killed. I really would love to believe they aren't his wife and son...
