For the first point you need to understand that he is a marquis , a protector for the common folk, he has to sacrifice himself and his desires for the betterment of the nation even if it means that the fl is in danger and also he thinks that she is safe in jiazhou and has to bear the responsibilities of being a marquis. i agree with the second point in the preview for future eps he still chose to lie about his identity to the fl which is fcking dumb and i just think that the directors wants to milk this whole plot until she comes to the realisation herself.

its just not worth the mark in terms of storyline and the political arena that they created is not even interesting apart from romance what else do you get?? The only reason this is getting enough hype is that its been marketed a LOT. I like the dynamic butcher x rich powerful dude but thats all there is to it tbh at most its 8.5 deserving 9.1 is for like top tier shit not this slop. The ratings will drop regardless of u defending it. You should truly discover more cdramas to properly compare. This is engaging because the show provides us with instant treats like whenever a conflict arises they quickly fix it which makes the viewers feel satisfaction and dopamine is released. The chracters are so generalised and have little to no depth, its the same shit orphan daughter secretly noble and a powerful dude with PTSD , there is nothing wrong with a generalised storyline that is present in almost all cdramas but the characters have no spice no element that makes them truly unique. If u remove the fl being a butcher its the same crappy cdrama you see everywhere. The producers are just recycling the same shit for max profits. I actually like this drama so far but its a shame its following the conventional cdrama route. Its just a better show in a bunch of cringe cdrama wattpad inspire shows.
