Saw it today in Lotte Cinema. The perfect last film and ending to the amazing trilogy. If the previous two film's were reminiscent to Helm's Deep battle, then this one goes full on Minas Tirith battle on a scale level. There were some 1:1 things from Minas Tirith battle as well. 9/10
i read the book 2 years ago and having seen the first season when they reached the last episode I was thinking…
Thanks for telling it! I just finished episode 1 and really enjoyed it, but if we have at least 3 seasons left then I better postpone watching it until the last season is out :D
I can totally see how UFO and religion were tied together in this drama and it kind of works well. Maybe if I saw it 10 years earlier I would rate it higher. However now as it stands, after seeing "Save Me," "In The Name of God", "Devil in Ohio" recently (and some more religious stuff I can't remember right now), I am just SO DONE with everything related to cults and brainwashed religion fanatics.
It's so unnecessary to make two entries of The Glory on Mydramalist (part 1 and 2 respectively). Just as "You" season 4's part 1 and 2 counts as season 4 in a whole, there's no need to split this TV show into two pages. Part 2 is NOT season 2. So many western TV shows used to have mid-season finale then have a break for a month or longer then continue. Those season's halves were counted as one season together.
Surprisingly unconventional even to Korean standard unconventional style. Based on Netflix's content warming footage I had some idea what it would be, and eventually it was completely different what I had imagined it to be. I love it when films and TV shows surprise me like this. I can see why most of people would have hard time liking it, but such unique, fresh and unconventional take on this story definitely worked on me. I appreciate it if creators have their own style on storytelling and decide not to cater on everyone's tastes. They just tell the story exactly how they want it to be told. It also made me realize again and again how grateful I really am for Netflix's existence. TV shows such as this and many others (Extracurricular etc, etc) would never be allowed to be aired on Korean broadcasting stations or they would had been insanely censored. It allows creators to tell a story without any restrictions or limitations. 8.5/10
For me it also felt like a spiritual continuation for "White Christmas." Because
Pretty much replace math with writing an essay and then you get the movie called "Finding Forrester." Watching it reminded me of this movie. Enjoyed it :)
No one is talking about one more con, and I personally think it's one of the most important one as well. If you take occasional breaks between some episodes, even just half a day, then your brain has more time to process all those dialogues, events as well as details etc what you just saw in the previous episodes. You have more time to go through all of this and process it. However, if you binge through all that content in one sitting, you won't give time to your brain to process all that new information step by step, especially the huge part between the beginning and the end, and the result is that you won't be able to remember details in the long perspective. I think about all those TV series that I either binge watched or took it some episodes by episodes. I can clearly all those events, details and some dialogues better for those TV series that I took it slow. However, it is opposite for those that I binge watched I can barely remember. Of course you'd remember the most important ones as if someone would die or something, but eventually you forget a lot in a long perspective. So I try to find a balance between binge watching and "casual" watching - binge watching in chunks.
"Save Me" is truly an amazing TV series. It had a slow start but once it picks up in the middle of series, it truly keeps you on the edge of your seat. But at the same time, it was extremely frustrating experience and as a person who has been watching Korean TV series' for more than 10 years, none of them had been this freaking frustrating. So now I'm facing this unique dynamics how "Save Me" places itself among other great TV series. As long as a movie or TV series gets a rating 8-10 I wouldn't mind watching it again. With this TV series, it's not the case. To summarize, "Save Me" - 8.5/10 However, rewatch value 1/10
I had planned to watch this for more than 5 years, but I either postponed it or just couldn't find time. And then comes "Crash Landing on You" that just blatantly and shamelessly spills the spoilers about this drama. :'D I guess it is my punishment for postponing it.
