I think i know what show you are talking about and i think its a cultural thing. It doesnt mean uncle in the way we mean uncle in the western english speaking world. It more just means an older adult male. So for me it wasnt creepy and i called him that too!

I like them all equally for different reasons
Thailand - classic BL Japan - If I want something unhinged or Super Sweet. They alway have unique story lines Taiwan - I find has more realistic BL plus their fan service is OFF the charts. Plus the HIStory franchise is ICONIC Korea - Its getting better each year. I like that they are a mixture of Thai and JBL. Strongberry is a really great production house. Philippians - super low budget but a few hidden gems Vietnam - low budget and just find its feet in the BL space. fun to see the growth of the industry there
