i can't articulate when or what, but the changes they made to this drama were great. some stuff was moved around or taken out, but the flavor was definitely still there. the stuck in the snowstorm scene is iconic, but it's honestly unnecessary lols cuz like did it progress anything? lols. They gave more scenes to dive deeper into the character's mindsets = super important. they scared me with the amnesia, (thank gosh they didn't have the rando girl) but it was a good segue to see how far Thyme's mom is willing to go and for her to realize that her way is hurting Thyme. Ren NOT kissing Gorya was very much appreciated. them kissing would've made it seem like Thyme was second choice. And it would've made Ren and Thyme's friendship too... tainted i guess? Changing the forced kiss to Thyme's furious tantrum and him restraining himself from hurting Gorya was a very good change. He has serious anger management issues but it's BECAUSE it's Gorya that he didn't want to hurt her. I was scared the whole time of that forced kiss showing up Them changing to Lita kissing Thyme instead of the other way around added likeability points to Thyme for me. it really did feel like love was super important to him. Thyme is definitely the most innocent and likeable here. This version, Thyme got anger management issues and he reflects on that. He was literally psychotic in the Japanese version. Don't get me wrong, i love the Japanese version but you gotta agree that he was the most violent and crazy. I believe the Japanese version had him lose his memories when he fell off a bridge and hit his head while visiting her in the countryside. Here, the cause of his amnesia was important to the story. his mom not taking him to New York or London here. thank the heavens!
They made everyone more human, you got to understand what they were thinking and how they were feeling.
though frustrating, i quite like the flow of conflicts. Your actions will have consequences. them bullying Phupha made Talay come for revenge Thyme's mom being ruthless caused that ceo guy to stab Thyme. every "little" thing came back and connected with a bigger obstacle.
one of the most important changes for me was that the F4 actually felt like a friend group, they were able to weave Kavin and MJ into scenes to help each other when they could've easily given the work to Ren. they supported each other, picked each other up, punched when needed. it wasn't Thyme and his minions, it was THE F4.
1. F4 Thailand improved on the toxicity, fleshed out characters, the chemistry, the comedy, the flow of conflicts, the editing to include the most necessary scenes. fast paced and condensed i like that Thyme wasn't a total monster, he was beating the bullies that were gonna r*pe Gorya unlike the Japanese version *cough cough* where he totally authorized it 2. Hana Yori Dango 2005 tho it got the craziest ML, the chemistry was chemistrying 3. Meteor Garden 2018 first adaptation i watched <3, but Shancai was a little too indecisive for too long and the ending was straight trippin
i enjoyed the tension and chemistry between the leads. didn't expect that spicy scene but wasn't mad about it kekekeke XD FL was stunning and i liked ML's do what you want to me attitude 8.5 XD
though it take soooo long for their first kiss and consummation, it came at a good time. These two literally never had a break from dealing with problems one after another. They were liking each other then boom ep 13, civil war/death, then them trekking to Youzhou, then them recovering, then them figuring out how to survive in this new city, then another war?! when they finally could relax, they were able to show some romance. then boom political problems, her "death," his "exilement," dealing with Luo Zishang...etc. ---------- jeez they really didn't catch a break the whole show. I did want some more kisses and hugs but the plot legit did not allow it; it would've been misplaced and we'd be over here saying "now's not the time!!!" lols

his best looks are definitely at the beginning (with his long hair down and flowy (idk why, he looks so elegant and majestic)) and his general look.
