thank goodness Uncle Pingyang didn't die, i was so scared for him the whole time. Like when Hua Zhi went to the north to give him the portrait i thought he was gonna be a goner. Thank goodness he survived, literally one of the best characters of the show.

Hu Yi Tian's best acting in the whole show was ep 32 when the emperor made him raid Shen family's house and when he told him to release them

plus the epicness of him riding past Hua Zhi in her carriage wearing his uniform and mask on his way to the Shen family

i honestly liked Prince Xian. I thought he was gonna be on Yanxi's side after they kinda bonded over how much it sucks to be a royal but oh well. His acting and speech before he slit his throat was incredible you had to feel sorry for him. plus points for his last ditch effort of trying to stab the emperor with the broken wine bottle.

One of the main takeaways from this drama is what goes around comes around. Hua Zhi was kind to everyone she encountered, then they came back to help pay for the canal. The emperor was evil towards everyone even his own sons and what happened? they both wanted to kill him and one succeeded.

okay, i didn't really get why he raised Yanxi. right cuz if Yanxi's dad has a strong son, he could possibly rebel against him again

how many years do you think passed from exile to reunion? maybe 1-2 years?

is this the same fight choreographer as the Long Ballad because fight scenes in both dramas were sooo riveting, so intense i couldn't take my eyes off the screen

plus i think Yanxi is the only ML that fought with his elbows a lot. so good. plus points for coolness

kinda sad that the only kiss scene was not even a good moment. Like Yanxi's dad just died and THAT was a good time to kiss him? idk

i expected the white light behind them but at least it didn't block anything hehe

well them splitting up made the emperor release the Shen Family

i like that she was actually underwater. I can't with other dramas that have their hair blowing in the wind while they're under a blue filter X'D

honestly i'll say they started to like each other or at least be attracted to each from the moment they met in ep 1

this show isn't anything big or spectacular but the stories and characters creep into your mind and before you know it, this drama is addicting and unforgettable and has a special place in my heart

after the fire again, was Shaoyao not "silly" anymore?
