100% should’ve saved more screen time for more romance although i did like the heart wrenching scene of him reading out the edict. He Yan’s heartbroken anger and Xiao Jue fighting himself as he spoke every word
that's a really shame, however we are all different, i really like this and thought the FL did a good job and…
I still remember when she first dressed as a girl and the way she was sitting in the carriage hunched over, arms crossed and legs spread and how Xiao Jue was side eyeing her lol.
Plus i think they did a good job showing how she could pass as a man with the other male characters. Her being short like Mai and her being pretty like Cheng Li Su
AND evening thinking that she could possibly be a woman is such an over the top idea/theory during this time. Especially since women were delicate, demure and soft spoken during this time, she was the complete opposite

yes, thank you. I was like HUH?!?! when the Emperor was ENJOYING and SMILING when threatening Xiao Jue to deliver the marriage decree, weird character shift all of a sudden
A few people mentioned they thought there was unnecessary drama in the last couple episodes, but I didn’t mind…
thank you for clearing up He Yan crying over Xiao Jue in the MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT for the first war, I was like guuuuurl get uppppp he just disappeared into the smoke. lol
Great fight scenes tho i wish they weren't edited so fast lol like linger on each cut more because the fight choreography was there! the last fight with the two working together was amazing! <333
The Emperor was so weird in the last three eps like all of a sudden he looked like he was enjoying that Xiao Jue was heartbroken over not marrying He Yan and the Emperor was smiling evilly while threatening Xiao Jue's family and forcing him to deliver the decree himself?! Unusual.
Can't believe they killed Yan He just so Chu Zhao could regret his actions....... TT
I enjoyed the romance scenes, every confession made me giggle and blush TT <333 "I love the moon, but the moon doesn't know."
Ost is sooo good!
Loved Ryan Cheng from A Familiar Stranger so it was a treat to watch him here. Green flag, strong, romantic hottie, the stylist knew how to dress him too <33
I love winter time in historical dramas cuz that’s when the fur capes come out <333
Loved Zhou Ye from Back to the Brink, she was great here. Yes, she had a small stature but when she put on her general face, she was believable and had a strong aura. Her strongest acting was definitely when she was fighting and when she was angry. Most memorable scenes of her being angry was when she ripped the marriage decree out of Xiao Jue's hands and stormed off and when she grabbed the wine bottle out of Chu Zhao's hands saying "You don't deserve to get wasted!" *chef's kiss*
Coming back after watching the Legend of the Female General lol
In ep 32 16:15 of LOFG, the background music is the same epic one as in The Long Ballad ep 13 11:25!!! heheheh <333
Also I'm still not sure if the war scenes being drawings was because of budget reasons or covid but maaan if The Long Ballad had war fight scenes like in LOFG the show would be higher than 10/10 because TLB already had amazing one on one fight scenes, imagine the choreography for the huge group fights and more of Changge and A'Sun fighting side by side <333
The original husband is one of the most disgusting characters I think I've had the misfortune of watching in a…
I was about ready to drop the drama every time his face was on screen lol the creators LOVED him i could tell, he had waaaay too much screen time. Like that expensive compound that houses celebrities and politicians just allowing anybody to enter? what are the security guards doing?! And the fact like you said him busting into her house TWICE and having the audacity to say that she cheated, when I tell you I was fuming and just about gone bald from ripping my hair out......
simple story, the leads were cute but I gave the show an 8. All the points knocked off is because of the ex-husband. One of the most infuriating, hair ripping, annoying, hypocritical, delusional characters that I have ever watched.
So many good quotes/lines
I also like the non-romantic ones like “you don’t deserve to get wasted!” And “how can I gratefully accept this if you don’t let go”
My heart 😭

He was like no don't waste your time, and she was like oh....ok. Then he says 10 men will fight her at once LOLOL
"yes."
I die now. <33333
And "She graces my view, occupies my mind, and claims my heart." kyaaaa <333
