oh shoot, i definitely didn't see it as an open ending lol. Duanwu looked very depressed the entire exhibition while other characters were trying to be happy but turned sad when they looked over to her. Plus she was wearing Yan Zijing's ring that he never ever takes off. I took all of that as he already died, and now she's gonna go be a free traveling merchant and see the world as they talked about before.
i knowwwww ugh, so many cure options. why WHY couldn't they let the man be happy, he suffered too much and his wish to live peacefully with Duanwu was so simple and achievable if the writer just... ugh -_-

realistic? lol more like depressing. this whole show, my goodness has been fighting and loss, why couldn't they get their simple wish, to be together and live peacefully? he was imprisoned and tortured for 8 years, crushed by the discovery that his sister is already dead, double crushed that the witch doctor who could save him got killed. give this man happiness. and Duanwu's pleading at the end for him to not leave broke me. It's such a simple wish that could've been made possible. plus so many unrealistic things happened like you said. the best example is Zheng Wu. omg the man was impaled by a huge spear but he pulled himself off of it and saved Cui Shijiu. i believe he would've lived if not for the burning structure falling on him lol. I refuse to believe that Yan Zijing died, i'm writing my own happy ending in my head. Plus where was Kang Ju in the end? didn't see him at the exhibition. In my ending. the bloodstained pearl was more than a map, it was a cure all. then Yan Zijing, Duanwu, and KangJu can be travelling merchants lolol seeing the world together. -_-
i start tearing up now when i listen to the song.....so so sad. he suffered so much. Imprisoned and tortured for 8 years, had hope his sister was alive but no she dead, had hope the witch doctor could cure him but nope he got killed. Every hope he had, it was crushed, why couldn't he have his simple wish of living peacefully with Duanwu -_- they looked so happy when he was doing small chores and helping around Clear Mind, like come on!!! let them be happy. i don't think my heart will ever recover.

awww shoot, guess i got to take kill me love me off my list lol. I know! Yan Zijing dies so the Yan family's bloodline dies out?!??! during his finding his sister arc and it was revealed Yunxiu wasn't his sister i really thought his sister would pop up but nooooooo, they made him suffer so so much. He had hope his sister was alive, then boom she dead. he had hope that the witch doctor had the cure, then boom destroyed. plus he was imprisoned and tortured for 8 YEARS?!?! let this man be happy. Plus Duanwu oh my goodness. she lost her friends and family too, all she wanted was to be with him, why WHYYYY i was crying at the end, was it sadness or frustration? lol
