The pace is indeed exhilarating, the central plot is that Queen Woo has to decide who levirate marriage within 24 of the dead of King Gogukcheon. But the drama starts with the final battle of a war that happens weeks before the return and assassination of the King, and in the drama they go back at some points to their childhoods, their marriage and their coronation to build the characters.

A similar and ever more deeper controversy happened with the portrayal of the larger than life historical figure of the first Shōgun Ieyasu Tokugawa and Lady Tsukiyama,in the 2023 Japanese historical NHK taiga drama "What Will You Do, Ieyasu? (どうする家康, Dousuru Ieyasu)". The portrayal of both of them as conflicted human beings was contrary to the "sanitized" image built through centuries of Ieyasu as a flawless revered hero and Lady Tsukiyama as a despised evil doer. These more human portrayals increased younger generation viewers but "history academics" and the older generations received the show negatively.

In almost every Thai drama I've seen them say what sounds like "shia" and it's always translated as "shit".
