Complex and interesting does not mean without flaws or perfect angel. A complex character is someone who maybe does something bad but you can understand what lead them to that place due to motivations. These women do not exist simply to be submissive despite the overall narrative showing us how often society is trying to force them there. These are female characters with their own motivations and ambitions.
Also, none of this makes them any different from the male characters, which is part of the point. Male characters get to have it all and be taken seriously. When a female character is anything less than perfect and beautiful to sit on the arm and boost the male lead's character arc, people often see it as a bad thing when actually, it's extremely good and feminist writing. Women can do bad things and allowing them to is part of what makes them complex.
This has been one of the better dramas I've watched in a while! I'm soooo about Nana's character!!! So many complex and interesting women in this, as well! Plus WLW!!!!
Really enjoying the plot here and watching it unravel. Also Nana's acting is phenomenal as always and I'm rooting for her character to take center stage towards the ~ climax ~ because nothing would be better, tbh.
