All four male leads have their good and bad sides, but I haven't seen anything that warrants such hatred towards any of them.

Actually, Lyf was a safe place for me until I read the comments on mdl... No other show's 'fans' literally made me turn away from a show.... And I love this show because I think each character reflects themselves well enough. I also love the script and I think everything progresses logically. I don't know how the love between XL and XY is handled in the novel because I haven't read it. But in the show, I didn't feel a very intense love between them. I read the spoiler comments and I really didn't feel that kind of love between XL and XY in the show. If I had read the novel, I feel like I would have loved XL's character more.
Jing is a kind character and I found his kind nature a bit exaggerated because he doesn't even defend himself and gives up easily in most situations, but other than that, I liked his chemistry with XY.
Cang Xuan is my favorite character, maybe because he is the main lead. At some point, I felt that his love for XY leaned a bit towards obsession. Still, I feel sorry for him because he is the least likely to end up with XY. He is the most precious to XY, but as a family member.
Feng Long feels more like a buddy (?) than someone who likes XY. I love his cheerful nature.
The first season was 10/10 for me. I got very excited watching the trailer. Cant wait second season
