Well said. People dislike her not because she is a woman but bcoz she is ruthless. I think some people forgot she wasn't fully controlled by her master because she could even disobey his orders and proof of that is how she saved Chong Zhao at the expense of defying her masters order and putting her life on the line. So to say she is completely controlled is not accurate as she has her own will and can make choices. She also shows clear evidence of enjoying killing and even said to Bai Shuo that she is happy to see her miserable. Some people are saying her redemption would only through death that is true bcoz even rong xian killed himself out of guilt, it will probably be the same for fu ling, she will probably end up being eaten by her guilt.
I personally think the Cold Spring Palace made her that violent because she had to kill to live but i do see her…
yes the cold spring palace probably erased her memory, made up as story, manipulated her so she stays loyal and such but this doesn't change fact she is too ruthless 😭 she saves Chong Zhao bcoz she has feelings only for him but if she didn't fall for him she would have killed him too, so Chong Zhao now has a bit of leverage over her, before I was thinking maybe Chong Zhao could change Fu Ling's ruthlessness but now there are hints that Chong Zhao might turn evil, specially his hatred for Fan Yue has grown too much too. Unlike rong xian where he quickly got back to his senses, Fu Ling has done way too much to have a redeemable point where she could be spared her life and live, bcoz even Rong Xian who killed his lover ended up dying but it was his choice to kill himself bcoz it was out of guilt, then in fu ling state, she will probably be eaten by her guilt so she will chose to kill herself, that is how I see writer will give her the redeem arc.
