I understand your views. You are correct both are different coping mechanisms but the antagonist chose a not so justifiable path. Although, I agree we can't totally blame her but projecting fault to someone is something toxic rather than healthy. It is not a destruction to only the person she is pointing the blame at, but destruction for herself too the more she dwells on it.
To answer your question, what the antagonist even FL needs to do is to let go. Pain is normal in world everyone experience hardship and suffering. Everyone carry pain but if you keep looking at your wounds without letting it heal, you can never grow out from it and it will constantly torment and haunt you. Everyone who healed their wounds didn't heal perfectly or flawlessly, the scars are still left and that is life.
