Honestly, one of my biggest struggles with this drama is keeping track of everyone because there are SO many characters and the backstories aren't always explained all at once 😭 sometimes a tiny detail gets mentioned in passing and my brain completely misses it.
Now that you've pointed it out, Marquis Muyang's behavior suddenly clicks for me. I genuinely thought I was imagining things because the way he treated him felt way too affectionate to be random 😂
I also don't remember them mentioning much about Marquis Muyang's wife, which is probably why I completely missed the connection. Thank you for filling in the gaps because I was sitting there making all kinds of wild theories in my head 😭🤍
Because why was this man personally delivering the coconut that his son bought and then wiping the spilled juice off him too?? 👀 The level of care and attention is making me side-eye every interaction they have 😂
That’s why I’m so happy it’s finally airing now because Wang Churan and Tan Jianci have been one of my dream pairings from the moment they were announced 🫶✨
I’ve caught up to the latest episodes, and if i’m being honest, the weakest aspect for me so far is the plot. Maybe it’ll improve as the story progresses, but right now i’m mostly here for the main leads and their romance 😭🔥 Their scenes are what keep me invested everyday. The chemistry is chemistry-ing, and I find myself looking forward to their interactions more than anything else.
As for the side storylines, I haven’t really connected with them yet. At the moment, i’m much more emotionally invested in the romance than the overall plot.
Also, I can’t lie—the AI face replacement for the blacklisted actor has been really distracting 😭 every time those scenes come on, it pulls me right out of the story. It looks so unnatural that I’ve found myself fast-forwarding through some of those parts just to get back to the main leads.
I seriously thought this drama would spend the rest of its life collecting dust in the dungeon 😭 every time someone mentioned it, I refused to get my hopes up because I was convinced we'd never actually get a release date.
And yet here we are 🥹✨
Wang Churan and Tan Jianci are finally coming to my screen tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited. I've been waiting for this pairing for so long. Please let the chemistry chemistry, the angst angst, and the romance romance 😭🫶
WE ARE FREE. THE DRAMA IS FREE. EVERYONE CHEER!!! 🎉
But somewhere along the way, the writing started feeling a bit messy. Not enough to make me stop watching, but enough for me to notice that things weren't flowing as smoothly as before. Some plot decisions felt unnecessary and a few storylines could have been handled much better.
What's keeping me here is the cast 🥹 they're genuinely carrying so many scenes, and the leads still have me rooting for them every single episode. So yes, I'm frustrated, but I'm also staying seated because I loved this drama from day one and I'm still hoping it sticks the landing.
What surprised me the most was how refreshing it felt. This isn't your typical modern drama filled with the usual clichés. It had its own charm and managed to keep me invested from beginning to end. The story felt genuine, the characters were easy to connect with, and there were quite a few moments that hit me emotionally harder than I expected.
Some episodes genuinely made me tear up, while others left me sitting there thinking about them long after they ended. I love when a drama can make me laugh, cry, and feel emotionally attached to the characters, and this one definitely succeeded in doing that.
Overall, this is a solid 9/10 for me. Came for Li Yunrui and his blonde hair, stayed because the drama turned out to be so much more than I expected. 🥹✨
