Actually it is not Shakespear kind of old fashion. You know, 50 shades of Gray is very polular globally but it is critized by lots of Chinese girls because it is considered old-fashioned 'I'm the boss' type. We are so tired of 'you are mine' or 'You belong to me'. Butttt when Daqiang said that, he means it literally instead of 'I love you so you are mine'. So it is very funny to see the old guy saying' you belong to me' with his poker face.

I just notice that one thing you may not know. LBFAD is very popular and loved by huge Chinese fans. One vital reason is that the love words DFQC said to Little Orchid are also very old-fashioned( these sentences can only be found from love novels of my childhood.), which suits his name Daqiang and his age. It is kind of cute haha.

Hello, I'm a Chinese native girl who just came across your comment. Haha the question is a bit interesting. Indeed, if you don't know any Chinese, it is difficult to understand Daqiang. The word Da means big while Qiang means strong. But it is not simply big and strong. In old days, when the country just united, many parents who is not highly educated will name their son the name Daqiang or Dahong, something like that. So the name Daqiang is very old-fashioned. DFQC is indeed an old guy so the name happens to fit his age but makes him kind of uncool. Hopefull I made myself clear( English is just my second language). Enjoy the TV show!
