After completing this drama, I feel that Tunnel, Signal and this drama have many similarities, feelings wise.…
it's meant to be kind of open but the popular theory is that it was all a dream. taejoo died in episode 1 and what we see afterwards is his afterlife that he unknowingly created himself. in the end, taejoo goes back to 2018 inside his dream but here we see how truly depressed he was in present day which ultimately leads him to finally move onto his afterlife that is 1988 by jumping off the roof and ignoring the final plea for him to return to seoul/'reality'
well damn not even lee byunghun, kim taeri, and the cinematography could save the cheesy writing of kim eunsook dramas for me. a shame because i was actually looking forward to it
the camera work in this (especially the finale starting from the car chase) is just insane... the single-shot illusion works wonders and looks absolutely stunning.
Sooo question. Regarding sang hwans mother (I'm on ep 10). In general, how does one end up in such a state?…
she's suffering from locked-in syndrome where her body is completely paralyzed but she's still conscious and aware of what's going on. in one of the later episodes where the camera pans in to her finger slightly moving we can assume that she'll probably recover from it soon
yeah for me the main thing that sets movies and dramas apart are the way it's filmed too + the music score that i feel alot of dramas really skimp out on. so far this drama's cinematography, atmosphere, and the use of music has been second to none imo
the lack of PPL also helps a ton too haha. not even stranger was able to escape from it in the end :-(
i watched stranger and while it's an excellent drama, it didn't really give off those movie vibes to me. not that that's a bad thing or anything of course. this drama however, is the first drama that makes me feel like i'm watching a long movie and i'm damn impressed so far
shimok bluntly telling the dude in the hospital that his wife died in the middle of his serious internal monologue moment was absolutely hilarious. i love this show's use of humor
idk how good kim jungeun was before this drama but she's absolutely awful here... this is one of the few times where i'm genuinely annoyed by bad acting.
What a twist for ep24!! Really did not want Sang Hwa to be Uh Ri Ni because she seems rude and too interested…
it probably makes more sense that sanghwa is eorini seeing what these geoins are used for. the teacher/sugwidan most likely brainwashed the hell out of her before turning her into sanghwa. okran seems way too upright to be of any use for the teacher
well, I guess everyone is happy b/c Jae Yi is his daughter it seems... :/ although her real name is Yeon Ho...…
uhh i'm pretty sure her character is supposed to be someone who's really stiff and emotionless. that's why her students are kind of afraid of her and also why she drives kwangho crazy. hell there's even a scene where sunjae directly describes her as someone who doesn't know how to express herself very well.
edit: regarding your extra message. you chose to voice your opinion about jaeyi and i chose to make a response to it. we're on a public forum, what did you expect honestly?
I must be one of the few who actually preferred the darker serious theme at the start, than the comedic-ish scenes…
i'm with you. the first half of the drama (especially the first two episodes) were very well done and stylish imo. it hit all the right marks for me with the perfect balance of humor and suspense even with the constant flashbacks/flashfowards. the latter episodes, not so much. that being said, i'm still enjoying this a lot barring all the flaws which is a surprise, considering it doesn't take much for me to drop a drama
Legit this show is airing at the worst time, while one of the most popular shows is airing "BLUE SEA"
blue sea is ending soon but i think lee young ae's long anticipated drama will be taking over the slot. not sure why other dramas are mentioned though when i don't think they're even in the same time slot.
really looked forward to enjoying this drama but it's beginning to look incredibly cliche. here we have mister handsome white knight #591 risking his life and position in the company for a sad but pretty girl #487 he hardly has any connections with (yet). i mean who cares about park gwansoo anymore right?
it's like they used two different writers to write jeha/anna and choi yoojin, the former two are the textbook example of the white knight princess archetype while the latter is one of the best character i've seen in a drama of this sort. flawed but still very human and realistic. if they somehow screw up her character in the following episodes i'm going to dropkick the writers because she's the only reason why i still watch this anymore
the lack of PPL also helps a ton too haha. not even stranger was able to escape from it in the end :-(

(good riddance lol)
