Is the same thing like in douban happens now in MDL, where haters vote down the drama? I agree that this drama might not everyone cup of tea because of it so far only fluff without real substance, but ratings drop just in a few hours seems suspect

Oh yes, the story moves along nicely and covered a lot of chapters from the novel in the first four Eps. I was worried that the drama will be packed with fillers because the novel‘s plot itself is actually pretty thin. It is a fluffy romance with no actual substance. But I‘ve read somewhere that the author always insist to be part of the scriptwriting team so maybe she already has concrete ideas how she can develop the story further beyond the novel ending. That‘ll be a real treat for the novel readers to directly have sequel to the novel in the drama. I am reading the novel now and can’t wait to see all the milestones in their relationship unfolding in the drama. It‘s so healing watching this after LYF.

Oh yes, TJC‘s voice is lethal. The production team must thank their lucky star to find him for MQC role. He fits their requirements to a T. An actor who can act (that is sadly in C-net not always the case), has magnetic voice and can voice/dub himself and a singer as the cherry on top. And I must say it again, that VOICE OMG…

It‘s about the game they played during this Hi6 Ep. Everyone got a flower with real tokens or fake tokens(number) inside and they were divided in pairs. The one who got real tokens inside wins. If they win a game they can trade their flower with others, so the goal is to get rid of flower with fake token and exchange it with real token ones. During filming break ZY was asking TJC if his flower has real or fake token inside using her aegyo😉 and saying that Mo Qing Cheng won‘t lie to her. Their cute interaction hype me up to watch LMLMV even if the plot may be paper thin. But I really need all that sugar after LYF.

What I mean specifically is that how the scene where XY found out that FFYY is pregnant is played out like a classic makjang scene, where the heroine find out the betrayal of her lover in the most horrible way. And I say it not because I disparaging makjang in any way. I myself like and enjoy watching makjang occasionally. CX storyline for me is the classic political power grabbing story, while XL is classic romeo-juliet with a twist where romeo never confess his feelings and playing hot and cold instead (I want to smack his 9 heads sometimes).
I never say that TSJ is a loser but only pointing out his fsilure in dissolving his engagement. And yes failure or failures doesn‘t/don’t make someone a loser. I see YSQ/TSJ as a kind sweet sincere and devoted man with some (for me) pretty big shortcomings. I won‘t elaborate more as you must hear my reasoning often enough from other people already. Yes let‘s agree to enjoy the story from our own pov. I think this is the genius of the writer to write a story open for so many interpretation and depend on your pov and but also invokes such deep emotions in us.❤️

Yes, asking repeatedly if one maid is prettier than the other like the novel portrayed hinted more strongly that XY has some feelings for YSQ than the drama depiction. I watched the drama blind, having no knowledge whatsoever about the story and knowing only Yang Zi from the cast as I like her in AoL. So I formed my opinion and understanding of the story first and mostly from the drama. I haven‘t read the novel completely (I’m skimming the novel that covered S1) and reading snippets here and there which people posted in this forum for the S2 and their discussions and interpretations of the story.
The scene in Haoling that you quoted from the novel; I see it more like another test from XY to Jing, not necessarily because of jealousy, but like testing/asking if someday another prettier woman is looking at you (throwing herself at you), would you change your mind? And Jing passed her test with flying colors.
For your next point about her awareness of YSQ as a man when helping him bath; I do still think that it‘s not necessarily proof that she begin falling for YSQ. This moment of awareness I read it more like her sexual awakening, realizing that well she is still actually a woman after all even if she spent part of her childhood and whole teenage years living as a man (I assume she is a young woman at this point? feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). Here stand before her in a very intimate situation a young man, who’s basically a stranger to her (not family that she watched grew up like skinny and fatty or Lao Mu who‘s old). No wonder she gets flustered. Her second awareness though for me is clear hint that she sees YSQ as an attractive man and he‘s not friendzoned 😉. I‘m planning to read the novel back to back and see if I‘m going to change my opinion on the story and characters afterwards.

Well from my understanding watching the drama, XY decided to risk it all after YSQ confession in dragon bone prison. YSQ asked her to give him 15 years time and he promised to come back to her as YSQ (meaning in this 15 years he‘s going to disentangle himself from his family, responsibilities etc). So YSQ ticked her two boxes :confessing love and promise to leave everything behind for her. And mirroring her conversation with YSQ as they observed the interaction between skinny and Tian Er, she decided to gamble her heart and trust YSQ’s promise. Here I interpreted it as letting herself to fall in love with YSQ. I do believe the seed of attraction and love is already there, she cares for him, they were getting along really well for the 7 years YSQ lived with her and who wants to say no if a handsome devoted sweet man promises to love you forever and make you his absolute priority right? So I see everything that happened afterwards in their relationship as consequences of how things played out later. XY already letting herself loving YSQ and lowering her guard. She already invested in the relationship so to speak and going to see it through the end. We can dissect this relationship further but it‘s going to be a very long post😉. I guess the point where we need to agree to disagree is that you believe XY only loves TSJ while I believe she loves both TSJ and XL. How these loves develop and her relationships with each ML are very different. And if we want to start discussing the proofs of how XY loves or not loves these ML one by one then we need to agree first if we are discussing: the drama only, drama and novel together as comparison or complimentary or novel only as the depictions of the relationships and the intensity varies greatly and thus can be interpreted differently and give reader/watcher different conclusion.
For ex. you mentioned that XY cried for XL in the drama but not in the novel, likewise the description of how the bite feels for XY is vastly different in novel with the portrayal in drama. And your point that she only felt heartbreak with Jing as her proof of love only loving Jing, well TSJ is the only one who clearly broke her heart. Other boys didn‘t promised her forever and then failed to fulfill that promise and to top it over, letting XY to find out that FFYY pregnant in the classic makjang scene. As drama watcher who didn’t read the novel before, I liked YSQ and cheered him on at the beginning but he lost me as TSJ sadly.

I guess we really have different interpretation and pov as we watching this drama. Because I also didn‘t read the scene where WXL mentioning TSJ maids as her being jealous but more like her way of ribbing/joking with others like on the wedding day of Fatty she told the newly married couple if they ever have trouble having kids they can ask her for help or when she gleefully following skinny to see whom he‘s dating (to tease him later probably), etc.
But I do agree that there were two scenes where XY was getting shy and having the sudden man-woman awareness/awkwardness with YSQ, once when she‘s helping him with his bath and when they were following skinny on his date. It‘s again open to interpretation and pov of the watcher to say if this is the tipping point in her feeling to YSQ or not

Sorry but I disagree. I don‘t think XY disappointed when YSQ true identity was revealed because she already fell for YSQ but because it‘s another blow for her abandonment issue. She thought that she finally has someone who will always be by her side (as deity she has much longer lifespan than her adoptive sons and even Lao Mu who is only a lower deity if I‘m not mistaken. She accepts them as temporary companion as it‘s better than no companion at all). YSQ promised her he‘ll be by her side forever but then his identity was revealed and with this identity come responsibilities and family that he can‘t discard easily. I think this blow is also extra hard because she already forgave YSQ once for disappearing when CX asked her for the medicine for A Nian‘s maid and only after YSQ repeatedly shown his sincerity did she finally forgive him and gave him another chance (trust his promise again not to abandon her again).
And about you other point that if XY fell in love in the other MLs like she fell for YSQ then she would be more tempting after them. I don‘t really understand what you mean here. But if you mean that XY would go after the other MLs if she fell in love with them like she fell for YSQ, then I also don‘t think this is correct, because XY abandonment issue also extends to her love life. She wouldn‘t consciously go after a man and confessing first is out of the question for her. She would only accept that someone love her if he confess first and put her first above everything else (ready to abandon everything else in her favor)
