Revenge? Yes. Deaths? Many. Romance? only if you squint reallll hard
First, I must mention the acting. Phenomenal. Every one was so good, especially the women--their insanity was so well shown. I loved Liu Matriarch, Xie Ruilan's, acting so fucking much.Lead girlie Lan Mengyan was so, so, so good in all her insane moments. The killings, blood-splattered smiles and tears and revenge scheme scenes were so well executed by her.
Mo Xiu was good when he was pissed and enjoying Lan Mengyan's craziness. But his individual scenes and story/plot, fell flat. There was nothing in them worth seeing.
On that note, the romance was so non-existent that I wish it wasn't there to begin with--would've made the show much better.
The show wasn't 100% perfect but for a short length series, we can be generous, hmm?

Great Premise + Great Acting - Poor Writing = Above Average drama
I finished the drama, which is good.I put all Wu Zishu scenes on 2x which was a lot of work and very annoying.
I enjoyed all Mei Si scenes, which is good.
I think the writers fumbled a great script/premise, which is irritating.
Kai and Xiwei had great chemistry, their acting was top notch. In fact, everybody acted very well, which is good.
Somehow, even with 38 episodes, the story was rushed which makes very little sense.
The ending was ??? It wasn't bad but it wasn't good, it was incomplete... unfinished, like a special episode to be released alter. I get it, human x demon couples won't survive long etc etc but this weird limbo that Liu Taizhen, Mei Si, Huzhu and Shunagjiang are in is unsavoury. Even our lead couple has no closure, he wakes up with demon eyes but what does that mean? What is the long term scenario?
Lord Phantom was supposedly unkillable so what's with him? Did she somehow kill him? Is his essence imprisoned again?
I have many more such questions that I will probably ask in the comment section

Short and Sweet
The romance was beautiful, the banter was well-timed. Unlike most of the long-form dramas they did a good happy ending. The acting was brilliant and the chemistry was on-point. I wish it was slightly longer, with just a little more scenes in the demon realm in the beginning and more suffering sequences for the villains
(-0.5 because I wanted to see more badass action scenes from the female lead 3)

Keep going in circles, and do it slow
I loved the acting, the characterization and the chemistry. But the plot is confusing, the story runs around in circles and the constant back&forth just got on my nerve. I tried my best to watch it but I can't continue anymore.
The initial episodes were all bangers and got me hooked, the HE is enticing and maybe I'll skip directly to it but the middle has sucked out all the fun and I do not have the time to hate watch.

If there is anything to love, it's the freedom to drop it and never look back
It is always sad to see a drama have so much potential and then lose all of it in the first 3 episode, this could have gone so far and done so well instead it stayed right where it started, stagnant, dull, annoying.I have watched 16 episode and there is no character development, no plot, no plot twist, no plot development, no obstacles, no setbacks, no punch, no pull. It is just a bunch of 'designed to be cute fluffy' moments strung together in a pretty backdrop with pretty people wearing subpar clothing and eating overhyped food.
*It is less like a drama and more like a food blog, a side of recipe with too much useless shit around it.*
The romance started unrealistic, gave a glimmer of hope and fell flat. It was so repetitive and so mind numbing. The least they could have done was shown some character development in the romance part but no, Mr Mo almost looks predatory when faced with Sheng's exceedingly childish reactions. I get shy, I get first love and the jitters of first relationship- this was not that.
I had hopes from this show and the trajectory of the rise, decline and death of those hopes would have made a better drama.
If anyone wants to watch it still, I suggest watching highlight compilation on youtube, if any. It would be a better use of your time for an equal, or better, enjoyment and returns.

Mobius Strip has 1 side, Ding Qi has many—and all are fun to watch!
I don't usually watch non-romance dramas, but something about time-loop and Bai Jingting gets me hooked for more and I was NOT disappointed at all, in fact I was fed so well!!Bai Jing Ting was phenomenal in this series, going from a well-trained martial-expert police officer to a silly guy in seconds, and then switching back, all while being extremely natural and effortless about it (I acknowledge it takes efforts—he just does it in a realistic way here.)
Everyone else did great, Peishan's arc was adorable and Fang Lu's was very true-to-her job, Boss Guy was like any trusted authority figure in such shows—willing to trust at risk of being fired.
The one person I didn't like was An Lan, and hear me out here. She was great as her own person, as someone with a complex backstory and her own hidden motive for working at Moma. But, as the female lead/love interest, she was lacking. Ding Qi carried the couples moments and chemistry on his back all alone—An Lan was just a silent, non-participating spectator in their couple moments.
In S2, which I am eagerly waiting for, I hope they forget the romance and go with platonic (very little possibility) or actually do the romance well—I'd hate to see a perfectly good show tank for such stupid reasons.
The music choice, and I usually don't comment on OSTs, was jarring. That random english song was so bad it pulled me out of the moment and had me physically cringing.

Another Must Watch cdrama of 2024
First if do not be misled by the poster, the love triangle thingy has negligent presence in the story so do not be deterred by it.My cons would be ML's acting, it wasn't too bad but it should have been a lot more. FL killed it though, her voice, her expressions they were perfection. Shaoyao girlie was amazing too.
The ending: one of the best cdrama endings out there, better than The Double in many aspects <3

Can't recommend enough!!
THIS IS SO GOOD OMG it's such a classic I can't wait to forget everything so I can rewatch it!!1. Story (mild spoilers ahead)
interesting story line and it was paced almost perfectly, there was a slight lag, for me personally as I didn't care for the screentime awarded to CH but other than I loved it. Also would have loved a better conclusion for the cloud guy, I thought we were gearing up to him being ousted but its okay.
It has the typical xia ending of last 5 mins but the special made up for it.
2. Acting/Cast
god such great acting, wow. Every single person acted their hearts out in every single scene, even the minor ones. The support roles were phenomenal but the leads? they acted their asses off I am so impressed. FL's voice did take a bit to get used to but given her acting range showcased I decided to bear with it and good thing I did.
3. Music
I don't put much thought to music and ost so I will just say it is nice and not off-putting at all.
4. Rewatch Value
High, very high indeed. I will definitely be back.
