he plays shang qi, a newly crowned emperor who is also the og crown prince shang luo's (played by lin ziye) uncle. the mission in this arc is to help shang luo reclaim the throne. this mission was actually jiang mo's which lüxia took on bcs there was a fragment of zero's soul inside shang qi and to get that she has to make shang qi willingly k!ll himself.

Yup the manhua itself is super popular and has a wide national + international fanbase. If it's a problem of censorship then they should come out and clarify instead of maintaining this mysterious persona which does nothing but make fans mad and haters happy.

I can get why some international fans might not understand why c-mijus are so mad about this but we need to see through their pov too. The original manhua was a soul transmigration themed story which required the appearances (and names) of the Su Lüxia of each universe be the same. In the drama they changed the original Su Lüxia, hence deviating greatly from the original work. Even if we look over the issue of the manhua fans ultimately bashing jjy over this, there's still the issue of character incoherence. When the viewers see a different Su Lüxia post transmigration, won't the question of "can the other characters not see the clear physical difference between the 2 Su Lüxias" arise, which would directly affects the viewing experience. Having jjy play both the og and new slx would eliminate that issue. There are also other things that have been mentioned in the comments below. C-mijus are taking these actions to make the drama team come out and clarify things. If they have the solution to these problems then they should come out and make things clear instead of keeping the fans in dark and giving haters more reasons to drag jjy. For the last 5 months they've been using the same "there's an information gap between the team and audience" to avoid answering directly, it happened during the director issue (which ultimately happened as mijus feared- we were promised different directors for each arcs and now there's only 3) and its happening again now, so its really not surprising why the cfans are protesting.
