I loved the webtoon so I will check out that one. Having seen her in "No Gain, No Love" recently, I think she could pull off Navier who is cold and logical without being mean or spiteful. I am excited to see who the rest of the cast could be—especially the actress who will play Rashta.

Han So Hee was a good villainess in World of the Married but I am unsure if she would take a similar role.

The biggest problem about modern cdrama especially the one with 40+++ ep. Almost 3/4 of the drama is about business.
Agreed! Modern romance dramas shouldn’t be 40 episodes. They end up filling the episodes with so much business fluff that no one asked for.

Thank you for this article. I have seen the poster for it a few times on Viki but never considered watching it. Your article changed my mind. :D

I agree it was a bit annoying at first. In the first few episodes, this happened but I am on episode 17 now and she kept being a hard-working career woman and it's one of the qualities ML admires. The whole "you are too strong to be lovable" has also been toned down.

I am a bit confused about this 1,500m competition. If they enter the competition as a team, shouldn't they both get a gold medal? Why the debate between the assist and the non-assist?

I tried looking it up online but couldn't find any mention of this kind of race. The only things I could find were individual races and team pursuit. Is the latter what they are doing or did I miss something?

This is a pretty well-written article! One of the most popular dramas that everyone seems to like is Meteor Garden…
I hated that scene in Meteor Garden 2018. He forced a kiss on her and she had to begged him to stop. It blew my mind that they were selling this as ''romance" to viewers.

Agreed with everything you wrote!

I first notice that kind of behavior in Love O2O where the male lead repeatedly kissed the female lead even though she didn’t seem to be comfortable. However, on their wedding night, she is very much enthusiastic about kissing. Unfortunately, women’s sexuality is still repressed (and I would imagine even more so in China). To show interest or enthusiasm would probably been seen as “slutty”. Coupled with the stereotype that men have to be aggressive and I am afraid you get the tropes you just listed.

As a female programmer this synopsis is raising so many red flags... Why would the ML start a company that doesn't…
I had the exact same thought! I was excited when I heard there would be a drama with a female programmer because yay, more women in STEM, but the lead discriminating against female employers is a huge turn-off for me.

Title Never Twice
I have watched enough Game of Thrones to know that asking the villain to do the noble thing and giving them time to do it NEVER ends well.

I had a feeling she wasn't going to show up for the wedding but I didn't see the gangsters coming. I hope this opens Woo Jae's eyes about Hae ri.

God, the moms are horrible. It's like they don't even see their children. They only see tools for a specific end. And the grandpa isn't any better. Calling Poong Ki a gigolo when he is doing the exact same thing. What a hypocrite!

Isn't that kind of the point Tami made?

When two people tell you they are getting married, you don't say "why?", you say "congrats". So why does she have to justify her not wanting to marry?

Because it's "normal" to get married when you meet the love of your life? Because it's "normal" to want to have children with this person?

Why tie ourselves and others down with stereotypical views of what a relationship should look like?

And this is why I love Captain Holt in Brooklyn 99. More than a gay character, he is a boss, a mentor, a colleague, a friend, a husband, ... In other words, very human.

To get back to your article, so many great points! Some of which I knew about and others I hadn't noticed and will make for some good reflection.

Does anyone have good BL to recommend? Ones that promote healthy relationships?

Title Love O2O Spoiler
I totally agreed. It also bothered me that she worked for two summers at his company for free.Girl, you are a…
I understand. Of course some companies have unpaid internships. And in the case of Love O2O, she was the one who ask Xiao Nai for an internship so it made sense that it would be unpaid.

However, by the second summer, I would have looked for a paid internship (which she would have gotten during the first summer but the jealous love rival took out her application).

Of course I can't speak for the Chinese tech industry but in North America, there are still far more paid tech internships than computer science student and even the most mediocre developer tend to find a summer job (and a paid one at that).
