So guys I have to put my attention to other c-drama or else I'll be crazy waiting for season 2. I am rewatching LLTG, and I kinda find some similarities and differences between LLTG and LYF (well I'm not over with LYF that is why some of the ideas are popping up to my brain while rewatching). If you guys watched LLTG then you are more likely to understand what I am trying to say.
Here’s the sketch:
The love interest of Cheng Shao Shang (CSS) between Lou Yao (LY) and Ling Bu Yi (LBY) is more likely the same as Xiao Yao (XY) to Tushan Jing (TSJ) and Xiang Liu (XL).
Similarities:
I think CSS and XY are both women who are trying to find out what real love is. CSS is still young and innocent while XY has the story of becoming a man then mainly came back to being a woman that is why they are both weighing what kind of person they should love and live with in the future. Also, both have abandonment issues.
LY and TSJ are both vocal about their feelings and they give chase to their girl. They give what their girls ask for without any complaint and they stay by their side and make them feel that they are not alone. They can make their girls blush and feel like they are over the clouds. They are directly telling their girls that they will not leave them whatever happens. They both have marriage conflicts.
LBY and XL are both heroes. They have plans and goals that they already oath to finish. Both are loyal to their armies and land. When it comes to their love interest, they both work in the shadows. They don’t vocalize their feelings and just want their girls to be free from any burden that their love may inflict. At some point they are the men who will hardly swallow the lump on their throat when they see their girls happy even with the arms of the other men.
Differences:
CSS chose not to burden herself and her family in any consequences if she forced herself to marry LY no matter what. Also, she doesn't have any role to play that is why she can freely choose whoever she wants to marry. XY doesn't have a choice. In her love interest TSJ is the only one that can at least be free from his problems and can legally join her for a lifetime. One of the things that affects her love decisions is she has a role to play which is being a princess of the land that is enemy to one of her love interests.
LY doesn't have the power to decline the decree of the emperor. He is weak to even have a chance for a fight for CSS. TSJ has the power and wealth to make a move for XY. He managed to escape his wedding (though it takes him years to finally do that). More likely, he already has the privilege to be XY’s husband because of his stand in life. And the main difference between TSJ and LY is that he got the girl.
LBY is not an enemy of the kingdom where CSS also lives. If ever he becomes doomed when he performs his goal there will be someone to back him up which is the emperor. The only conflict that LBY has is his revenge which becomes a problem because he hides it from CSS. Also, LBY had a chance to prove himself again to CSS. XL’s case is the most tragic. He is an enemy of XY’s kingdom and only with that reason everything will fall down with him if he pursues his love. XL is fighting alone (this thought is making me cry right now). Technically, his only choice is to die on the battlefield. He could also have the chance like LBY but of course again he might just drag XY along with him.
Have you guys watched TJC’s live performance of XL’s theme song “The Wait That Never Came”? He has been slaying in any field. TJC is so majestic and talented!
So I am watching Hi6 tonight and I can't stop giggling here alone. I love how Wang Hedi is so supportive to TJC during the portion where TJC has to compete with DW for a spot beside YZ. It feels like XL got someone by his side in the modern time—like he doesn’t have to deal with things alone this time.
