I was very skeptical when I started thinking Xinxia means all on special effects... which is something, I am not very keen on.. But seriously, they did a great job... I cannot believe XZ asked the Dragon King, his gift of beautiful mermaid tastes any good.....ha!!! It shows how indifferent and unconcerned of worldly matters before ShenLi

I saw in one interview after PA, when he was approached for PA he said.... he was hesitant but then he came to know ZYL is there, He said, he knows she always takes dramas with good scripts....ha!! so immediately he also agreed... lol!
Whoever directed or wrote the story should to made to stand in a corner for a whole day! I started as a time pass short drama as a filler, then ML started off as a meanie turned up a total misunderstanding... but the FL... noooo..way we can save her from this role.... I stopped at 18, but once in a while check the comments here... to see.. if there is any deliverance from the misery of misunderstanding..! I dont like women to be shown as stupid and clueless... I would like them to stand up and fight for whats theirs...

Ancient Gods are more like those palace slaves, to face hard times, who are there to service all the realms, cannot have any personal relations or feelings and live on doing it...! who wants to live like that. Sad... lets hope XZ break off his shackles... its better to live a happy life with SL, even if its for a short time, than being an Ancient God to services all others...!
What I like about the character Shen Li in this drama is how she carry herself, always showing a bold face, without showing much emotions. (btw even the cluck cluck was strutting like her) King Bicang of Immortal Realm, leading an elite bunch of Generals. We can hear her inner thoughts/ emotions, but she rarely shows it on her face. Only XZ could read through...! and vice versa... even under chain she is thinking and hoping for him...to be ok!
I just finished episode 22 and I must say, the CGI work is so much better in this drama... the phoenix, the Shenli's spear... Actually I was very impressed with Deng Ke 's direction of "My Heroic Husband" it was funny as well as clever.. But I had doubts of all these special effects... I must say... its done so smoothly..
Since its based on a Chinese Novel.. maybe better to start with the Chinese version. I want to start War of Faith after Shenli... I hesitate to start Republican era dramas.. but all that I have seen are really good. Also I try to watch most of Wang Yang dramas, plus it has Yibo and Li Qin.
