Overall I did enjoy this, but I stopped trying to understand the motivations of anyone that wasn't a main character because they pretty much had none. (The royal shaman? The gisaeng? They were just sort of... there.) It had some really interesting ideas and it kept me entertained, but it felt like they opted for style over substance most of the time.
This was such a feel-good series. I thought I would end up dropping it after the first episode, but it had this weird goofy charm (cheap props and all) that hooked me until the end. I think it had something to do with the fact that the ML is the world's biggest cinnamon roll. I kept waiting for him to slip up, but he remained kind and supportive until the end and I friggin adored him. :') I'm definitely gonna miss this drama.
I thought the Assemblyman was a child abuser. But he is a sadist/masochist? But then that scene with the child…
It made me uncomfortable too. I thought right up until the last episode that they were implying that he was a pedophile and I was like, wait why isn't his wife divorcing him??

I think that scene with the children was meant to be a red herring and the kids just didnt like him for whatever reason. Apparently his wife knew he was into sadomasochism and didn't approve and/or didnt want the general public to find out, which led to her comments about him having perverse habits.
This could have been so much better than it was. I went into it thinking I was getting a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers type of plot (à la Secret), but it was like the writers couldn't help themselves and ended up rushing the romance. If they had paced it better, maybe it wouldn't have felt like things dragged so much in the second half, or at least made it more tolerable.
Wow. So this is definitely up there in terms of films with the most random and unnecessary endings. I don't mind sad endings, but this one just felt so cheap and contrived that I literally facepalmed.
I adored this drama. I know some people complained about the pacing being too slow, but for me it was perfect. With some cdramas I'm used to people being head-over-heels by episode 5, and then it dragging for 30+ episodes. but this felt like a more natural progression of two people respecting and supporting one another as colleagues, and feelings creeping in over time. It was such a fun and beautiful journey.
I would love to see this adapted as a drama someday so the story and characters have room to breathe. The plot is interesting, but it feels like so much happens within such a limited amount of time that everything feels rushed and almost nothing is properly developed.
I watched this drama because of many recommendations and I was disappointed deeply the first episodes were bit…
These were my issues too. I had high hopes, but unfortunately it ended up being one of those "meh" dramas. And despite being only 13, 35-minute episodes, somehow it still felt too long.
Hang on. So... The guy vanished mid plagiarism scandal - (was that ever actually resolved?) - and everyone was just... fine with that? lmaoo. I know the drama pretty much abandoned any semblance of reality, but I can think of a few people who are going to be in some very hot water if it were ever to get out that he's missing and not "on vacation."
I went into this one blind and now i'm questioning my life choices. The plot is all over the place with way too many random subplots, and yet half the time it feels like nothing is even happening. Also whoever put the assistants in here is the actual devil.
anyone else confused with Zhen Xuan and Shou Yi? they went from saying Shou Yi can feel nothing for him to the…
I think that scene of them being happy together was supposed to be just in Zhen Xuan's imagination. It was a little confusing the way it was edited together, but Zhen Xuan's smile fades away almost immediately after so I assumed it was just him imagining their ideal life together.
I wonder why I don't like it because it actually totally fits into everything I like. However, the main couple…
That's one of my main issues too. When it started, I was excited to see how the aloof ML would gradually fall for the FL -- (cold man/warm woman is one of my favorite tropes!) -- but once he figured out who she was, it was like he switched personalities and nosedived straight into loving her. It was almost... too easy?
Personally I think it might've worked better if his discovery of who she was had come a few episodes later, but alas.
If you're trying to make a point about not judging people by their looks, maybe don't treat a character's weight as a cruel punchline. I really wanted to like this more than I did and it does have some nice moments, but the Shallow Hal levels of "humor" (sitting in a chair and breaking it, etc.) made me cringe.
