Title The Untamed Spoiler
Me, watching for the first time cql and the first two eps :" Who the heck are those beautiful human beings? And…
The first two episodes really do have some wonderful little details in them! (Sizhui talking about how the melody in Ep1 sounds familiar just felt like a random comment at first, and now it breaks my heart every time.)

Title Ossan's Love: In the Sky Spoiler
The first hint that Haru cares a little more is when Capt got pushed by that angry customer and fell over, when…
Those are good examples of scenes I wish we had gotten more of. That way I would’ve been more willing to buy into Haruta’s belated realization that he can’t live without Kurosawa, since they haven’t really spent enough meaningful time together for me to totally buy into it when he says that.

Title Ossan's Love: In the Sky Spoiler
I totally agree with you! I felt like he went from refusing him without a trace of doubt to a confession.
Exactly! I can even see where they left hints fairly early on about Naruse liking Shino, but it felt like the writer didn't put nearly the same amount of thought into Haruta -- as if even they weren't sure what to do with him until the show was nearly over.

Title Ossan's Love: In the Sky Spoiler
I feel so weirdly torn about this ending. I actually don’t mind that Haruta ended up with Kurosawa, and the ending was ridiculously cute. I just wish that there was more emotional buildup between these two characters so that I could actually believe it when Haruta says that he likes Kurosawa, because it feels like the thought didn’t even cross his mind until Reiji brings it up in literally the last episode. I even thought Haruta was going to end up with Reiji for a hot second (or remain alone), which almost would’ve made more sense. I still love Kurosawa and I’m glad he finally got a happy ending. I just wish that ending didn’t feel so random.

ugh, yes. i definitely think this needs an upfront warning/tag. especially for any unsuspecting person who's just in the mood for a cute high school romance, which is what it was marketed as.

wait, really?? that's odd. the tragedy tag is visible for plenty of other dramas and it's technically always a spoiler so I wonder what the difference is here.

I mean…
“Everyday.” (¬‿¬)
WWX should be set for (eternal) life.

p.s. lwj gazing wistfully at xxc and sl will never not kill me. (╥﹏╥) the lans are definitely the most romantic.

And I remember this site has some useful info on cores: https://immortalmountain.wordpress.com/2016/11/20/cores-in-chinese-cultivation-novels/
Hope it helps!

Title The Untamed Spoiler
Will WWX age?
Back at you with some hypotheticals since it's never explicitly confirmed in text, so yanno. Grain of salt and all that!

I’ve always assumed that once WWX is summoned into MXY’s body, he can still cultivate traditionally, he just has a weaker foundation. So even if his new body lacks spiritual energy, given enough time and training he should be able to strengthen the inherited core to the point that he stops aging. And there’s always dual cultivation, so with LWJ’s remarkably high level of cultivation as a boost, I think it’s safe to assume that novel!WWX would eventually be able to cultivate into immortality.

Cultivation partners are also confirmed to exist in the drama (in the GusuLan Sect rules no less), which seems to be evidence that even if he couldn't do it on his own, with the right partner (and we all know who that is (¬‿¬)), CQL!WWX should be able to cultivate into immortality as well.

Yu XiGu suffered so much, He deserved to live LONGER AND HAPPIER. He was JUST starting to enjoy his life too :(…
He really deserved so much better. Maybe I wouldn't be so annoyed if it wasn't the same character suffering hardship after hardship after hardship. In the end it just felt like the scriptwriter made Yu XiGu a tool to teach the audience a trite lesson.

ugh, yes. I really wish they hadn’t even included that bit of dialogue because it felt like a disservice to Hao Ting’s character development at that point. Almost like he was implying that his relationship with Xi Gu was just a temporary phase. (Sun Bo and Lu Zhi were definitely a breath of fresh air in that regard! Bless them <3)

I had the same reaction tho! ‘Wait, why are those words popping up--omg it’s the end.’ Despite the issues, it was still a fun journey. But that ending just felt needlessly cruel. (╥_╥)

I am doing a very bad thing and writing this while my emotions are still high, but these are my raw emotions and…
Exactly! I don’t mind tragedy when it’s done well, but this seemed more like a cheap contrived attempt to generate shock value rather than a fitting conclusion to the narrative. And sure, it’s absolutely something that could realistically happen in any relationship, but that just sounds like an excuse for the lazy writing in the final episodes. The random girlfriend seemed pointless, and the whole doppelganger thing was so unnecessary and went nowhere. Also it ends in literally the most random place. (I was like hold up, are those the credits??)

But you’re absolutely right about the leads’ acting! It’s probably the best out of the entire HIStory series and definitely deserves recognition. Even when the writing was sloppy, Wayne and HJZ’s acting was always on point! Especially Wayne. I believed he meant literally everything he said. (*´д`*)

Does this movie have romance in it?
Sort of. There's the really subtle beginnings of a romance that'll likely be developed in the sequel(s), and a side couple that's featured briefly.

This drama is so heartwarming! You definitely shouldn't watch it on an empty stomach because it's lowkey torture, but it's worth rewatching for the recipes alone. I can't wait to try making the earl grey ice cream!
