Too many gimmicks

While some seem to have enjoyed the injection of humor in this episode I personally found this episode to be grating with its blatant dependency on contrived plot gimmicks. The story did not feel 'honest' since it relied on a series of silly gimmicks to advance from one point to another.I also found it very frustrating with the continued over-reliance on the classic drama trope of characters for no good reason just plain failing to talk to each other in plain language. The early episodes of this series moved the plot with actual story events. I hope they get back to that.

Worst father ever?

Rant: Huang Yao Shi has got to be one of the stupidest, most selfish and thoughtless father characters I've seen portrayed in a long time. This series of episodes on Plum Blossom Island have been excruciating simply because of having to endure the portrayal of his combination of utter stupidity and/or complete lack of concern over his daughter's well-being and happiness. What an absolute zero of a parent. His supposedly enlightened and 'sensitive' character is simply not believable and that made these episodes painful to watch.
