the eyewitness being the fucking mastermind of everything was pretty cool hahhaahahahaha, that was the most problematic and disturbing character that park hae soo ever played hahahahahahaa. Can't even defend or justified his actions, like maaaan that character was sick as shit, i almost forgot that he was also the one who played the naive baseball player on prison playbook hahahahaahaha, damn he was good!
To everyone worried about the episode count, I don't think 16 episodes have been decided yet either, since there's…
i think they want to test if what the fortune reader (ep 9 and 10) said will come true, that they need to survive until the second half of the year for it to become very successful, and keep experimenting to make the show more interesting and entertaining, that's why on the next eps instead of doing the quizzes they will play some games instead haha.
everything was perfect except the romance part, idk i just don't find the chemistry at all, but thank god that it wasn't a melo drama romance series, and the romance part was just one of the side plots that drives the whole premise of the show. The casts were great specially Jang Hyuk, damn he was so good on here, very cold and calculative, the antagonists were also great, such a bummer that the FL somehow couldn't keep up with the rest of the casts, I like the actress but her acting here was just lacking, hence the zero chemistry, ML and the villain FL had more chemistry than with her haha.
this show was really really good not until the final round, they should've made it more exciting and thrilling like the semis, I was rooting for Edward Lee, and I was sad that he didn't win, if NM was part of the hell challenge, I'm sure he wouldn't survive. I like ASJ judging coz he's so perfectionist but sometimes his opinions don't really make sense, like he said the dish was delicious and yet he always finds an unnecessary detail to make the dish unqualified... lol I hope next season they add 1 more judge to make it fairer and unbiased.
I thought The Traitors was the best mind games show I've ever watched and then I saw this, damn!!! I love every fucking game! and most of all I love that the guy I was rooting for won though I was cheering for Dong Jae at first coz his plan on game 1 was really fantastic, so sad that he got eliminated early, he doesn't deserve it, that's why from then forward I started to root for Seok Jin and Shi won. This was the best really, I cried, I laughed, I got my heart fluttered bcoz of Sj and Sw unexpected chemistry haha, I was stressed, irritated, my anxiety just go higher and higher on every episode, and most of all I really enjoyed the whole show. I hate that Orbit, DJ and KJB planted the idea to the other players that those 4 were cunning evil players, when they were just playing the games using their skills, like they painted their every move as suspicious, even at the end, those freeloaders were rooting for orbit to win and I was kinda sad seeing those only two sw and dj sitting together separately from the group. I cried so hard when DJ got eliminated, that was straight up nasty, and the show would've been more interesting and exciting if those two early out players were still in the game, especially in the hi-lo poker, ughhhh it would've been epic. Also, when SW failed to win the game, and then SJ started crying, aaaaaaaaaaahh, before that moment we got them being so happy and excited because the cracked the secret code, only for them to separate and not be able to move forward to the finals together, that was peak tv really haha. But at the end I'm glad that my fav won, so all the stressed I've got from the show was actually worth it, he deserved that win, now I'm gonna start to watch his filmography coz I find him hot and cute and i want to see more of him haha. Can't wait for season 2, and please more talented and smarter contestant pleaseee, no more freeloaders. Chars. (sorry for the wrong grammars)
To me, this kdrama is a (VERY) queer codded one, I think that's the reason why they pushed the main couple final…
That's what I'm getting too, like I said it would be so much better if Mongwoo was played by a man, imagine the dynamic, the angst, the yearning, haha.
This show could've been better if the romance stuff was excluded. I agree with everyone about the chemistry, it was so lacking and forced, I think they're more compatible as partners (in politics) than as lovers. If it wasn't for CJS I wouldn't have to finish watching this drama, I love his acting on this, very different from his past roles, I hope he could get more historical dramas with King character in the future.
There's this scene that's so great I thought it would take a different turn, that confrontation scene with the king and the prime minister, I thought the king was going to be crazy and were telling the truth, that would be so interesting if they took that road, him becoming a tyrant at the end. Sad that it was just a ploy haha.
I thought the FL actor on this drama wasn't fit for the role (imo), I actually wished mongwoo was played by a man, I think that would be more interesting and the dynamic between the two characters would be different. The hidden identity part was for me really unnecessary, they could still push the narrative they want without that. The villain was mid as were his motives (coz i was still confused asf why he did those shiii when he already achieves what he wants) they should add another one instead with more bad intentions. The ending was bad, too many plot holes and unanswered questions, it's a closed ending but kinda open, I really hate it when the writers decided to make "it's up for interpretation" endings, like give me a proper closure ffs!
All in all, it was not good but not bad either, if you're doing a CJS filmography marathon this wouldn't waste your time coz he was actually great in here, and the only best thing on this show. The story has potential actually, such a bummer it wasn't written well. And also, the soundtrack was nice, I love the songs, my fav is the "Wave". My rating is 7/10.
