I'm surprised a lot people didn't like this drama. Though the story is average at best and predictable, what really drove me to finish was the main lead. I found him so relatable (and super cute) but what the other Aoi did did piss me off somewhat. I whizzed through the 9 episodes because I found it short, but if it was a movie, it would've been more popular. Speaking of which, whatever happened to Aoi and his architecture job lol.
Even as a melodrama lover, tragic endings really do break my heart. Especially when there's no followup or second season...I weep like a baby. TT
The main thing that really grates my nerves is asshole male leads. I guess that ties in with SLS but honestly, who would put up with half of these male leads in the real world!? If that's one trope that should be laid to rest, it's that.

Okay and I've seen tragic love stories that have at least had agreeable endings, I don't care what's seemingly learned in school dear :DDDD And my opinion isn't going to change on how I perceived the ending, so why are you still replying?? ♥️ Oh and ps: making fights with nearly everyone in the comment section isn't a good way of spending your time.

I'm just now seeing Tragedy was in the genre..whoops. But I'm still heartbroken and their journey itself was tragic enough. There's no rule saying that tragedies can't have "happy" or at least complete endings.
I want to hit whoever said this was a 'happy' ending, this was a tragedy! I cried hard at the ending, because I wanted them to reunite so badly in the modern era..
I was still a mess because he never got to see her when she had passed away...so much 'waiting' and passionate love that it tears me up. So much.

Even if my comment is over 2 years old, I still have the same feelings. I found her to be utterly frustrating. A comment above me says it quite well: you find yourself hating her yet feeling sorry for her...though I felt less of the latter.
I watched the first 5 episodes of the drama and I decided to drop it. I know it's about unrequited love but this unrequited love was extremely frustrating to watch. What I don't understand is Saeko is so disingenuous and just really started paying attention to Sato for the most shallow reasons. From what I saw, she had him wrapped around her finger and I had such a detest towards her and Sato's naivety that I just had to stop it. I believe he should gotten with one of the other girls and not Saeko.
The movie was alright...but what made it unenjoyable was the lead character. I found her to be such an idiot and took things for granted. Maybe I'm missing the meaning of the movie but I found her to be such an utter, low, piece of crap. First she cries that her boyfriend supposedly "left" her, but half the time he seemed to be there, she never really cared for his presence. Half the time after that, she was drunk during most scenes through the movie. And I'm not going to spoil anything more but she was just so ungrateful to me and a nut. But maybe I'm missing the entire point. Besides her, the movie was pretty interesting and definitely out of the norm.
I usually don't cry when it comes to movies, but this one surely did ruin my mood :/ it was still beautiful and all but yes, I'm pretty sure this movie can pull some people to tears ;_;
