Lol I agree. I think he should've spent a little more timing focusing on Min seok and instil good thoughts into him but he probably subconciously realised that it wasn't time travel but maybe a long dream or something. Gosh I don't make sense. But anyway! This work had made me a really big fan of Jung Kyung Ho. BTW did you know, Dong cheols wife at the end is actually his real wife. So cute.

My interpretation is that basically when he fell into a coma, it was actually all in his head. The longer he imagined all this and the deeper he got into the story, the further away he got from actual reality. Hence why when he woke up, nothing changed. Like the surgeon mentioned previously, you can even dream of people you've seen on the streets. And because he was previously investigating the incident with the police officers who were killed by gangsters, he could remember Dong Cheol and the others' faces. Eventually he woke up, but you could tell he was depressed and he didn't want to accept that it was his reality so he committed suicide in order to go to his happy place.
*This is my interpretation though shha. I hope there's a better version out there. Honestly it was like a bitter sweet ending for me. I loved it but at the same time I feel so sad.

I’ll be sure to message you when I need help. I’m using serveral different dictionaries as well as google and my own knowledge but I’m learning as I go but I will definitely take your advice :) (typing this on my phone so probably a lot of mistakes)
