Friends

Man, it's a classic drama, but it's definitely not the best. I don't know who irritated me more: Xia Xiaoju, who…
I completely agree with you.
Xiaoju said "I'll never like you" so many times that it was clear that she only consider him as a friend. It hurt me to see Shi Yi chasing after her for so long.
And even if we assume for the sake of storyline that Xiaoju started liking Shiyi, even then their was no character growth from Xiaoju side, she never confessed her genuine feelings to CL and she never confessed her feelings to SY on time. A drunk kiss was all she did.
She seems like such a toxic character.

I like all the actors and their acting.
But for the storyline, I don't like it at all.
2/3 part of story Xiao Ju was focused on Cheng Lang but at the same time she was growing close to Shi Yi. But even after spending so much time with Shi Yi, she rejected every confession from him with clear NO. She didn't even spend time to think about it. And this 'SY: I like you" <-> "XJ: I'll never like you" keep going on for so long that me as a viewer was convinced that she only think of him as friend and only care for him as a friend.
Their was no character growth from her side. She never confessed her genuine feelings to CL and she never confessed her feelings to SY. A drunk kiss was all she did.

And I don't like the ending at all. Everything was skipped as if this was 24 Episode drama. A 36 ep drama and they didn't even did justice to their happy ending.
Why was their a marriage proposal directly? If there was no contact between Shi Yi and Xiao Ju when he was abroad, then they should tell each other their feelings rather than this cliche plot of finding the venue for proposal for "his girlfriend" and threating Xiao Ju with her job. This reminds me of old Shi Yi when he was just naughty and didn't care about the Xiao Ju feelings.

Overall XiaoJu character lack of growth, her being forced to grow feelings for Shi Yi was a let down for me.

I like the drama, but this series doesn't deserve 9/10. Its hardly 8/10.

I think whole series is from FL point of view. One of the biggest supporter for that is the ML graduation photo with FL. I agree they were close at the moment because of his tutoring but only keeping her photo in his house? Not his male friends group? It was so weird, I mean the guy you're so close with a guy that he randomly ask you to pick and drop his sister from school/college/airport, he is not present in photos but only his sister is. why?
There is not much ML point of view shown. Its his good looks, kind gestures towards FL, poor family and a trauma that turn into responsible person. ML character lacks depth and there was not much development. After FL defending him the first time in restaurant, he started liking her and started to pursue her in no time. In that sense, he seems like any other boy. But FL keeps saying that "You're great" in all episodes after they start dating.

ML trauma wasn't shown properly. His creditor send him gifts that he never opens? keep messaging him? keeps following him? then also make scene in public by throwing water on his face even after he paid off the debts?

Also whenever something happens to FL and FL do/say something to ML, he just agrees. Like her giving her card after his creditor talks bad about him. In that scene he could have a deep conversation with her but instead he plays along and give her his card and cash and turn that scene into romantic.
No ML past characters come into picture unless it was right before they appear in front of FL.

I started this drama for its name "Dali and the Cocky Prince" and hoped to some good interactions between main couple.
But as soon as Dali's father died, Gallery become the main character. So much importance was given to gallery by all characters that main relationship feels like a prop.
Dali has been showcased as weak girl who need to depend on others. Her character was degraded in most of the episodes.
Our Cocky Prince feels like a thug who doesn't even know how to control his anger in front of his loved ones.

I don't know why some think Hwang Min Hyun looks like Cha Eun Woo. I don't think that he does.
I thought it was Cha Eun Woo drama from the posters🥲
