Omg you're right 😂 poor yuanqi doesn't even have a second uncle to call out LOL I agree with you during the 2nd arc Tianqi rly stepped up and won my heart even more he truly only cared about Shanggu/Houchi's happiness regardless of the consequences. I mean he even took back the purple moon that was sustaining the demon realm and the clan's cultivation just for her. That already says a lot that he was so ready to sacrifice, be misunderstood and hated by his own clan for her. Truly a great character for me. And what was funny to me at the end was how Zhiyang and Tianqi's roles got reversed, we saw Zhiyang drinking and Tianqi handling the wordly affairs of the realms 😂😂 That was hilarious to me like they swapped roles lol bcuz we all know tianqi loves to drink haha.
People would always be complaining and feeling unsatisfied gosh...but Yes it's the same for me I also welcomed them all back! It was a happy moment to be able to see them again during the finale. Too bad yuemi wasnt brought back sigh T_T why was it so hard? Why was she an exception?? But yes lets hope our prayers do come true bcuz we rly do deserve a season 2 here like c'mon >< We all thirsty for shanggu/bai jue moments and their family of 3 hehehe Would love if its the same cast >_<

I also personally found this one more heartbreaking and that's bcuz I was rly invested in the characters and loved them so much. In comparison to TMOPB I also bawled my eyes out in that drama and that's bcuz the heartbreak was different there whereas in ALP the sacrificial love was what rly got me, it was so pure, selfless and incomparable to any regular love story we usually see...well imo at least I think so. Both dramas had their own interpretation of heart-break. To me ALP was like star-cross lovers cuz u know they wait for so damn long...lmaoo like 60K yrs & more and their eternal love remained as strong and untainted as ever since the beginning.
Tbh the story was well executed I don't think it was dragging and every ep kept me invested and not bored at all. I'm glad you're enjoying the first arc bcuz that shows how they fell in love and def is insightful for the next arc. That's surely not to be missed out :)

Yes, just like Houchi said "Qingmu is stupid, cute & impulsive. That's why I love him" and I couldn't agree more bcuz like u said he is not tied to any responsibilites since he doesn't remember anything. So we were able to witness a more unrestrained and bountiful love between Houchi and Qingmu. And just as u highlighted GuJun did say that their relationship makes up for Bai Jue and Shang Gu's regret. So I too respect both sides, arc & relationships.

Ikr....it literally felt like we got robbed during the ending scene... it was so sad that we didnt see more but only how they reunited and hugged and that lasted for few mins only sigh... They could've shown a kiss between them, then adding Yuanqi and show a complete family of 3 but we never got to see it T_T

Yes I love both of them too and Bai Jue is indeed the original version of both Boxuan and Qingmu. That's true I mean back in the God realm I'd called it a bittersweet ending if not for the tragedy...But Bai Jue was protective/possessive back in God realm bcuz of tianqi😂 and Qingmu was also like that too~ I just find it so cute and adorable haha Too bad after he's awoken he had to follow his plan T^T and we couldn't see more of those moments anymore...

Yes, I also completely resonate with what you wrote. In fact even tho both leads suffered a lot of pain, Bai Jue's suffering was way worst imo...I can understand what he did bcuz when someone love so deeply they will absolutely do anything in their power to protect their loved one despite the consequences. He couldn't confide with anyone, his deep regret was not being able to take care of YuanQi, he suffered a lot of setbacks (Qingchi palace, Green dragon platform & the sacrifice on the destruction platform at the end).
Like Bai Jue said no one knows better what Qingmu went thru better than he does..It was heart-wrenching to see his expression when he said that and also when he explained the notion of "death" to his son that it was not horrible to see someone you know gone that it was a happy thing to be able to die for someone you love. It just rly shows how far he would go to keep his beloved "alive" and his sacrificial love for Shanggu/Houchi was priceless and incomparable. No matter what I understand too what he did and where he was coming from bcuz as a father he missed out on a lot of "first" for YuanQi (his first walk, word and tooth like Tianqi said) so he was extremely happy to be able to spend his last moment with his son finally as Bai Jue and not as Fengran. As a husband to both Houchi/Shanggu he had a lot of regrets... you could rly see it in his eyes he couldn't be there during Houchi's pregnancy and we all know how Qingmu was excited to have kids how he would teach them how to fight monsters and that Houchi would teach them painting/calligraphy.
Rly I don't have anything as who liked BaiJue/Qingmu better, I liked both of them and understand both characters' personalities, this drama is xianxia and will ofc need to have angst if not we wouldn't have 49 eps to keep it going. Overall, I rly don't regret watching this drama, the OST was phenomenal I kept bawling my eyes out every time a sad scene/song was shown it added a lot of emotional depth. The production, cast and stylist did an amazing job regardless of any flaws anyone pointed out. Nothing can be perfect but at least we enjoyed an amazing plot/story with a great cast. I'm so glad I watch ALP first now I can go watch Xue Kai's another drama of Falling into your smile since I need something more cheerful and lighthearted to move one from ALP.
