I am sticking to what I mentioned above. The story progression was solid plus the ending is just one part/element of a whole story. You can't just look at one part and leave the rest...that's not the whole point of the drama. Although the spacing wasn't fluid in the last arc the fact is that it still managed to deliver the important themes in it. And you mentioned most recent xianxia have happy endings but we're talking about this drama particularly in regards to its title and the novel being "Black Moonlight hold BE(Bad Ending) script" both novel and drama give major clue on how the ending would unfold. This drama is all about "destiny, struggles and dark glory" so what other ending would we have expected...? We've witness TTJ whole growth and journey throughout the drama and that's why it ended that way. Of course we as audience are left wanting more that goes without saying but alas blame the restrictions. Plus the director was clever enough not to give the audience a typical expected ending. It wasn't the worst but at least it ended with a hope. So to me it has been sufficed especially based on all the circumstance the drama faced. And You said showing TTJ without any explanation is the worst ending, would you have prefer they didn't show him at all? To me I felt relieved they showed him knowing he's in the shell waiting to come back to the world. That's why it's a happy open ending.

Yes if it had aired before the new rule had taken place and the drama having it's full 56 eps it'd have given us a complete solid plot

All I'm saying is that TTEOTM deserves a higher rating than it's getting...LBFAD is also my fav and this one is also a masterpiece in itself. In the first place Bai Lu said the drama has a BE bcuz this drama starts with TTJ and ends with TTJ . Thus, "Till the end of the moon", moon being TTJ. They knew what they were giving the audience...At least we got a happy open ending. They only fast forward to 500 yrs later in the drama and TTJ will come back after another 500 yrs again. At least we know he's alive and that his soul fragment is in the heart protection scale. Most xianxia drama usually have sad/terrible endings..

AND IF YOU STILL DOUBT IT need I remind you that the acting of LYX and BL were phenomenal!! BL AND LYX both said they like kissing scenes better than crying bcuz it's not easy and the fact this drama had so many sad/crying scenes and managed to move the audiences' heart says a lot about their hard work, dedication, experience and professionalism!! So this deserves a higher rating! Especially LYX being able to pull off so many different characters that the audience was able to distinguish very well and it's not an easy feat!! This video recaps LYX different characters very well! There's so much more to praise this drama on but I'll keep it as it is for now.
